Im pretty sure my DD is getting her third tooth through. She started teething just after 3 months and 6 weeks later her first bottom tooth arrived followed by the second last week. Im pretty sure a top one is starting to come through and shes 5 days shy of 5 months. My heart goes out to her...

Are the top teeth more painful than the bottom coming through as she doesnt even want to feel and turns away from my boob and throws her back back, im afraid shes going to go off milk as it hurts her to suckle so much... Shes also biting my nipple and it really hurts im scared what damage she might do with top and bottom teeth

Anyone else out there with an early teether?

My 3 1/2 yr old had 4 teeth by 5 months. The only think that worked to stop her from biting me, was say to her in a firm voice- No! That hurts Mummy, and then put her away from me on the floor- she didnt like it, and never bit me again!
She always suffered when teethinga nd we used to give her regular pamol and bonjela.
With Aiden we are using a teething necklace, and will get some weleda teething stuff from health shop, but he hasnt started teething yet.

Mine didnt get any until 10 months but one of the babies in our coffee group had 8 by then.... She got her first 2 at 3 months and they just kept coming, a couple per month...

Jake eventually learnt not to bite, but there were lots of boobie time outs! As soon as he bit he was taken off, firmly told "dont bite that hurts mummy" and sat on my knee facing away for a minute or so then would be offered again. If he bit again in the same feed then I would stop feeding and try again later BUT mine was older so on solids...

Oh I feel your pain! DD got her first 2 teeth just before 5 months, and now at 14 months has got 16 teeth!!! Regular pamol and bonjela were lifesavers here.

biting, well, actually, it gave me such a fright I yelled! She popped off and cried, I put her on the floor and said " biting hurts mummy!" and went to inspect the damage before picking her up again. didn't bite again - I think it was the fright of the yell that stopped it though! I was really worried about top and bottom teeth for biting, but it wasn't so bad. It was more the latch that had to change as the top teeth got bigger, the little beggars dug in as she sucked.

Try the Naturopharm Teethmed relief spray it works wonders.
I was the same as Squishysmum, I yelled the first time she bit, cause it hurt and she never did it again.

DS had two teeth by five months and four by six. He hasn't ever bitten me but has caught me a few times by pulling off without opening his mouth wide enough. Ouchy.

I now get teeth indents on my boob from the top teeth while feeding. Not sure what to do about that but the pressure of them hurts after a bit.

Try pamol and teething gel for your little one. And lots of cuddles

Brooke got her first teeth at 4.5 mths.  I say teeth because two arrived at once.  The rest have followed in very quick succession.  She is luckily a good little teether - not sure if it's the amber necklace or not.
