I'm shattered!
How did you mums with 2 or more kiddies get some rest when your second/third/etc come along?
How'd you work around your older kid/s and the baby and actually get some sleep (or are you looking at this laughing hysterically at my hopes of catching a nap during the day ) ??

I only have 1 but do have a suggestion Would your oldest cuddle up on couch or in bed with you and watch a movie or tv? I always though this would be a great way to have some rest for both while little one is sleeping. Hope you get to nap soon

Yep i get a nap when baby sleeps on the days Isla is in daycare.
I am yet to co-ordinate them both to have a sleep at the same time, so I can too! Have been very tempted to sleep and leave Isla watching tv when she wont have a nap and Im soooo tired, but havent.

I only have one child too, so this is probably easier said than done, but a lot of people I know have compulsory 'rest' time just after lunch. We also have this rule at our family bach and no matter how old the kids are, everyone has to have a rest after lunch. This usually results in the adults falling asleep on the couch and the kids watching a DVD.

Jake has a 1&1/2 - 2hr nap every afternoon but I haven't been able to coordinate them napping together. He is in daycare 2 full days a week (today being one of them) but its a 45 minute round trip there and back so an hour and a half driving 2 days a week, plus groceries since I'm in town then when we get home Ty sometimes just won't sleep well I finally got him to sleep at 12.45 today, got to sleep myself at 1.20 then he woke up crying at 1.50, had a cuddle and crashed again but hes due for another feed at 3 so not really worth me tryna get to sleep again. It sucks coz he had a really unsettled night last night and was up every 2-3 hrs wanting a feed (he refuses a bottle so its all on me) so I could really do with the zzzz's he sleeps really well when Jakes home but then Jake wants to play with me when Tys napping y'know.
Kellz its hard ae?! I'm not super comfy with sleeping when Jakes up but if I'm getting abit concerned about PND if I don't get some rest soon since I'm already high-risk in that department. Might have to try the dvd idea - pick up a pile he hasn't watched yet from the store tonight when I pick him up which may mean a nap or 2 on the couch tomorrow... Watch this space

I've always co-ordinated the afternoon sleep, so just holding the older one off having a nap until the younger one is ready. It IS possible - but it did take a few months for Ava to sleep at all, let alone get her into a routine lol
Unfortunately I don't nap as I'm at work but I figure on the weekends we might want to get something done in that time (which is only an hour - if DS sleeps any longer he won't go to bed at night).

Yep it sure is hard! Im high risk for PND again too, and sleep deprivation is a huge trigger for me. Im taking things much easier and being kinder on myself than when ISla was little. If the houseworks not done too bad, lol! I also have lots of family support from my parents this time which is awesome.
I only got a 20 min power nap this afternoon but it made all the difference, my eyes were falling out of my head before that! I have napped on the couch while Isla watching dvd when desperate, the sleep isnt as deep or as good, but better than nothing!

Well I put Jake down abit earlier today at the same time as Ty went down and they were both asleep within 5 minutes so yay! I also have dvds from the store and the library so will put one on for Jake when Ty goes down for his next nap later this afternoon so I can atleast put my feet up and relax!!
Wish I could sleep now but since I've been unwell this week I've really neglected the housework and its gotten rather desperate still atleast I know I can get them down together if I'm organised!!!
