Hi there
I need some feedback in relation to internet. I am not sure if it our connection that is the problem or if it is nationwide or just that we were spoilt previously.
In dec we moved back to NZ from the states. Over there I could watch tv shows from the computer and u- tube etc live not downloaded without any probs. Now it constantly breaks up and has the little round arrow swirling around. I get about 5 secs then it cuts out and the arrow starts.
Does anyone else get this? Is it our home connection or is it a NZ internet thing? I saw on the tv about the upgrading of internet nationwide which has started making me wonder. We are with vodafone broadband so not sure if it is a provider thing also.
As you can see I have a lot of questions so any feedback on your experiences please let me know.

We have telecom broadband and can easily watch TVNZ on demand, youtube etc. We are also down in Southland, and apparently are on a "old" internet thing (so a telecom worker told us while drinking here one night haha!)
It doesn't seem to make any difference. We only usually have problems when we go over our internet plan, and then it'll slow down.
Might be a provider thing, maybe a area thing? I'm not sure sorry

Thanks for the reply. Ok so that takes out the nz thing. I am narrowing down the possibilities so I don't look like an egg when I complain. Never been over our limit yet however got close once.

That sounds more like a connection thing... We're on vodafone broadband here and we have no problems with watching tv or youtube vids online.
I'm pretty crap with computer problems though so best ask a professional

We only really have problems when we go over our usage. And then it gets ridiculously slow, last month we couldn't even do internet banking or check emails. I rang and complained and technicians were suppose to get to back to us but they never did, so I don't know if the problems were our usage or the connection.

We are with TelstraClear and I can generally stream videos fine. The only time I have problems is some evenings when it seems to slow down quite a bit due to the network traffic. eg If I am watching You Tube it staggers along a bit.

We sometimes have the trouble with youtube not downloading fast enough but it is generally only in the evenings and is sporadic. Here at work it is always fine, we're just a small office on the lowest telecom business package so not like it is the top plan or anything.

I had major issues with one company at the place we lived two houses ago - basically they kept telling me it was a problem with our gear and that no matter who we went with, we'd have issues. I switched providers after months of problems and as soon as it changed over the service was a million times better.
Sometimes its your provider, sometimes its just the location you are in (I know some places that don't get as great service as others no matter who is providing), sometimes its the plan you're on - it can be hard work narrowing down which is the issue though! Good luck.

I thing to make sure of is that ALL your phones have ADSL filters on them. If they don't this could slow down your internet speed dramatically. As a test pull out all your phones and see if the internet goes faster. Also depends what "internet plan" you are on. Some broadband plans aren't much faster than dialup.

Yes,I agree with skiltz Some broadband plans aren't much faster. If you are not satisfy your current internet provider, try to change your service.when i had slow internet problem,I followed the same way. Recently i changed my internet plan from Verizon to Comcast. Now i have better net connection. For me Download speed-20.047mbps Upload speed-6.043mbps I checked my internet speed using http://www.scanmyspeed.com/" rel="nofollow - ScanmySpeed.com What do you think about my internet speed?

Dh has been in I.t business for years and does lot of downloading we are with Telecom I think we are on ultra VDSL something like that and downloading is so much faster and watch ondemand with no problems. We will never go with likes of Vodafone or Orcon as they don't provide a better service.
