And?
Um, btw this is an Australian article, do you know if they even have exactly the same jab? I'm sure there would be something in OUR media if it was suspected to be an issue here. Talk about scaremongering

Wow that's a bit harsh. It was breaking news in Australia today after WA suspended it, followed by the rest of the country. I posted about it in the flu shot thread this afternoon.
I'm very pro-vac BTW, but it does give you food for thought and could be relevent if NZ uses the same batch of vaccinations (I have no idea if we do or not).

We just had our Febgirl, on Wednesday and I specifically asked about adverse reactions and to date there were none.
Just your normal temp and grouchy babe stuff. Since they have had so many compared to our none they must have a dodgy batch
I have a sick little girl, if anyone was going to react she really would - but nothing! Thank god, hope everyone else is the same
I got a jab too and I feel fine

hmm there was something in the news today, NZ couldn't get enough from the same supplier as the Aussies so they changed to a different supplier, there may still be some not used at the GPs but unlikely. so hopefully most ppl got the good batch :D

Exactly RaspberryJam, it would be a worldwide problem, not just in Oz.
And no I don't think it's that harsh, this poster often provides half-truths and is very anti-vacc so I think it's very biased. I will still be getting my son vaccinated, and I hope it doesn't put anyone off with no relevance stated to any other country, esp NZ.

I can promise you that as soon as an issue was identified a fax marathon would have ensued - along with email warnings etc - recall medicine notifications go out urgently all the time - more than you realise - and most if the time the public arent affected
I think people are very quick to jump on that bandwagon to emz - lets hope nothing comes of this and those who were to vaccinate still will and their babes will be protected

OMG! Excuse me that is a very very hurtful statement!
I am a medical professional and believe in people being aware of both sides of any story.
This information was also on the news on TV1 tonight.
I am very disappointed that I can't be open and provide information for those who might be interested in an open forum without hurtful comments from you.
Thanks alot. I have had a crap day already as my cat died and you have topped it off.

Hmm, well it clearly states its in Aussie so anyone reading it would know it wasnt here so I dont see how posting the link is scaremongering....
It was interesting and when things like this happen around the world I dont think knowing about it can be anything but a good thing. It just reminds people to ask questions before they go ahead and give something to their kids... I know a lot of parents do but some may not because they trust the vaccines are risk free... knowledge is power after all.
SKP so sorry to hear about your cat

Sorry to hear your cat died, that sucks. But, I had nothing to do with that so can't be blamed for your crap day
I'm more talking about titling this thread 'flu shots suspended FYI' when it has not happened, or appeared to have much, if any, effect in NZ. That's what I was referring to as scaremongering.

Did you watch the news tonight?
All I was trying to do was provide people information, I received this link this morning and really thought that it might be of interest to people here. The same batch was used here and there might still be some left, so I think it is relevant to NZ.
Have you read the information provided by the MOH about vaccinations?
And you don't think that they use scaremongering?!?!
I really believe in people knowing all the information available, not pushing them one way or another so you are mistaken that you think I am 'very anti vacc"
I am pro choice and freedom of speech (or text!)

Here's the article relating to NZ... and I don't think the OP was meaning anything untoward by posting the Aussie article, after all I'm sure that OH Baby have Aussie members as well.

Well , I was a health professional for many years too, and while I do think that the nature of the title of the Original post is a bit of baiting, I Would like to think that Mums still take the time to make up their own minds.
For or against
I would encourage those who havent yet vaccinated to see what happens with this situation prior to taking your babes in, I would, and I think its responsible to do so
