Hi ladies, - I just re-posted this from the planning/TCC thread/forum (which is the only forum I really go into as I'm still TTC, but fingers crossed I can join some of you lovely ladies in some of the other threads soon enough)

You all seem to have a WEALTH of knowledge is so many areas I thought I'd see if any of you could help me out with one more thing.

I have 2 very big conferences next week, one that I am running, the other I'm presenting at.
I currently look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards - I have short hair, it was a pixie crop, now it is a pixie mop. I need a haircut before next Wednesday.

My issue is I used to go to a very good (very expensive) hairdresser - we are talking over $200 for a cut

I work at a non-profit organisation I can't afford to spend over $80 on a hair cut. I started going to the hairdressing academy - which is cheap (YAY) but they take 2-3hrs (as they are learning)

I have no time and no money, and sadly no way I could wear a hat or a scarf.

So in summation, does anyone here know of any good, cheap hairdressers in Auckland - better than "Just Cuts" or "Rodney Wayne" - I've had horrid experiences with both of those chains.

Sorry for the long post - I'm just running out of time and feeling rather stressed.

Go the hairdressing acadamies.......thats where i get my foils done. well did until they moved it from paraparaumu to Porirua. And have to wait until later in the year when they have been taught it. but worth a 40min trip to only pay $25 odd dollars to get a full head of foils..........altho it takes FOREVER

Goodluck, i would love to find someone that does it cheap from home or something in my area too

DH's cousin works at a salon at the Pakuranga Plaza (Platinum). His brother owns a salon in Highland Park (Wentworth)...

You would have to try your luck with regards to booking with them...

I love Tane too! He's a family friend and is an amazing hairdresser & stylist. He is usually booked up though.

They are in King Store, just past Belmont on the way to Devonport

I go to Peter Dutton behind Victoria Park Market. Its the one thing that I spend money on. Helps that I am friends with my hairdresser but couldn't talk better about them, I spend $75 but that could be mates rates I have no idea I just pay I would pay more then that too! I have medium length curly hair and she cuts it so I can wear it curly and straight, you get coffee and you get a txt msg to confirm appointment the day off or before the appointment. They are open Tues-Sat I think Sat gets booked up quickly though.

If you can't get in for a cut what I did when my hair was growing out was twist it up into bobby pins so that it looked like I had a bun at the back. If that makes sense.

Servilles - Newmarket ... you can get a cut for $100.00 with a senior stylist, so maybe one of the newer stylists would be a little cheaper.
