Ok here is my story. And questions haha..

Went off the pill Dec 2007. Got pregnant Dec 2008, had a missed miscarriage Feb 2009 (blighted Ovum). Trying again end of April 2009, still trying now.. been a year.

Husband sperm all ok! Active and everything.

My periods are every 32-33 days, Have never had any abnormal bleeding or anythng. Ovulation kits show I ovulate but can u have a period and not ovulate????

Does Preseed work???

Am going to book in to the docs for further testing on myself but last time he said u to me get your period same time each month so you ovulate, but i have heard u can still get your period and not ovulate.........

Im 30. turning 31 in May. Aveage weight. pretty healthy.

Hi Greenstone, yes I would definately be asking the doctor for further tests they can give you Blood tests on Day 3 and around day 21 (from memory), the first one is to show your FSH levels and the last one is progesterone (sp), depending on the level this should indicate ovulation. It is definately possible to get your period and no ovualation. I am sure some of the other girls will be able to offer advice, shezzy if she is around will be able to give you some great links and advice. Some doctors are pretty hopeless, after two miscarriages and no follow up or tests adviced by doctor I self referred myself to a specialist. Best of luck and I hope your little miracle is not too far away.
Edited to add - some girls have great success with preseed, I used it once and got pregnant but obviously not viable. Apart from issues that can be fixed I believe sometimes a lot of it is outside of our control - unfortunately. Still you have to eliminate what you can as causes of infertility.

Hiya Greenstone and welcome to OhBaby

Yes you can have a period and not be ovulating. I started charting to make sure I was ovulating as by taking your temp each day you can see a `thermal shift' once you have ovulated (your temps will be higher and stay high after ov....until UTD or AF arrives).

Feel free to join us in the charting thread if you want to

I have just started using preseed...thought it was worth a try.

Here's hoping you get your wish very soon.

Hi Greenstone,

Sounds to me like you need a new doctor - at least for your fertility issues.

I'm with Asics and Tarns, you can definitely have a period and have not ovulated - because I have (the bloods confirmed). I just recently had a blood test on day 2 (well, it was for a whole list of things) and will go in on day 24 to have another one for progesterone (sp?).

I was the same as Tarns, and used charting to see if I was ovulating - but gave up as could never get a pattern.

I'm still waiting for my diagnosis, but my doctor was great and did a whole bunch of blood tests and then referred me to hospital gyn (with an amazing referral to make them take notice!) when ultrasound showed something abnormal.

I have also just started using preseed - feel like I should try everything! lol. Will let you know how I get on

Good luck and fx you get that bfp soon.
