I had a copper IUD put in yesterday. Went ok a bit uncomfortable (dh thought i was going to pass out) but all good. Anyway i have had quite bad cramping since (dr said to phone if it got more painful than having it put in), it is worse when i bend over or stretch for something. Just wondering how long this is likely to continue?
I am struggling to do anything atm. Been taking panadol every 6hours but that isn't really working.
I probably sound like such a wimp, but it would be good to have an idea for when this might get better.
Also is it normal to be able to feel like something is inside me? I feel kinda like i have a full tampon in . Havent checked the strings though because dr said nothing up there for 48hours.

I had one in 4 weeks ago for the first time. Have never had the feeling u describe about having something in there, but definatley has the very sore abdo/cramping for several days, taking regluar paracetamol but wished I could have somehting stronger but couldnt cos of bf, but it was really sore and I was worse when moving about. Was sore a bit for about 2 weeks but only bad for few days.
Im still getting a gross discharge (sorry tmi), and will give it 2 more weeks til my checkup, but if its still happening may consider having it out.

I was cramping very badly for 24 hours. Like 'cold sweats and panadol didn't do a thing' badly. After that it was ok though. And yes I could feel it in my cervix too and it felt a bit like a tampon.

I had cramping for about 6 weeks but only very mild, felt like early preggy cramps and didn't require any pain killers. I never got the tampon type feeling. One of the ladies in the Jan thread had that though and she had hers out cos they think it wasn't in properly so it might be worth ringing and asking them about that feeling.
Kellz I had heaps of CM and that did calm down, was very gross and I was considering getting it out but it all calmed down the same time the crampy feeling did.
Mines getting taken out though cos my AF is just too heavy to cope with with in it.
