We're going on holiday for 2 weeks at the beginning of may and DS's daycare still charges 50% while he's on holiday. Does anyone know if WINZ will still pay the subsidy that they normally pay?
I'm just trying to figure out our budget and I thought someone on here may know, rather than having to wait on the phone for someone to answer.
Thanks in advance.

On the end of year form I just filled in, it asked if the child had been away for more than three weeks, so they may not worry?
Since they pay it weekly, the same amount would be paid, it may just be picked up at the end of year reconciliation stage.

Yes they do, for up to a certain length of time, as long as you are still being charged fees. If your centre doesn't charge for absences, then they don't pay it.

They will pay for up to 3 weeks.
I just looked into this, as we are going away for 6 weeks soon.
They will pay the subsidy for the first 3 weeks while we are away, but not for the other 3. Which is a bummer, as the centre will charge me the full fee. But well, that's how it is.
Also be careful with any WWF payments. If you don't get paid for 30 hours holiday pay per week, they stop your WFF payments. Which will happen to us, as DH does not get holiday pay, and I only get for 16 hours/week.
This feels very unfair to me, it's not like we're going to live overseas for a while. It's been 3 years since I've been back home, and most of my family has never met DD.

Um... well I beg to differ.
If you are charged 50%, they will only pay a 50% subsidy. I didn't realise that either, until they consolidated their data with the DC and they reduced the following payment as they'd 'overpaid'. That was over Xmas though (not incl stat days) so you may get away with it if it's just you, and not the whole centre, away.

Thanks for all the answers ladies. Even if they will only pay the 50%, I'm fine with that I will ring them to advise as I need to let them know DH has had a payrise, which will drop the subsidy anyway , luckily, we're still up $10 a week after paying the "extra" childcare fees.
Now to find a good time to call.........
