Hey all, We have just had the night from hell (well could have been worse but it was bad enough for me). Josh was sick through the kitchen and our bedroom covering carpets, towels, sheets and several sets of clothes. I cleaned up the carpets with hot water and dettol which was great at the time but now i can still smell it and some of the washing is coming out of the machine still stinking despite washing them with powder, nappysan and some more dettol.

How do i get rid of the smell? I dont normally cope well with vomit smells but add in pregnancy and if i get too stronger wiff of it and im all most adding to it so aside from burning everything thats been affected i will try anything to have a nice clean smelling house again. Thank god its nice today and i can have the windows open but come early evening its going to be icy cold and would love to be able to rid the house of the smell before then.

Babe i hope you internet has finally been reconnected today i know you will have all the answers otherwise im sure some of you other lovely ladies can help me

I had a naughty cat pee on my baby's boucinet/baby bouncer and I used white vinegar (one part white vinegar, 2 parts water) on it. Then sprinkled baking soda and left it there, later vacuuming it up. Finally, a pet odour spray. I think the combination of these three finally got rid of it (after my washing/sponging it and trying other sprays on it), so you could try those things?

That totally reminded me i have pet odour spray from years ago when i had a cat will give that a shot.

Does adding white vinegar to the washing machine work if i have to rewash some of the stuff?

Yes white vinegar works in the working machine. just use about a cup per load and it should do the job

TA replied in our due date thread but yes definitely use the pet product. It will break up the enzymes and help remove the smell.

I would've suggested vinegar and baking soda too chick otherwise 1/4 cup ammonia in water and use elbow grease but ammonia smeels real strong so be careful!
On a side note I can't believe how fast your pregnancy is going!!!

I sprinkled a heap of baking soda straight on the cleaned up vomit on our beds & that definitely absorbed all the smells
