At 12 months DS2 was still having between 6-8 feeds a day on average.......... he was fed to cues from birth until he self weaned at 18.5 months. By about 15 months he was down to between 2-4 and in the 6ish weeks run up to weaning he was only having one feed a day on average, first thing in the morning, though occasionally he'd have 2 if I was lucky with about 3 strikes thrown in for good measure.

I let him set the pace after DS1 prematurely weaned from bf at 9 months after my misguided attempts to 'force' him back to the breast following a nursing strike that was at the time unknown by me.

We started weaning to a bottle of cows milk at about 10 months, just replaced one feed, then 4 weeks later another and then the last one at 1 year. But he was good with the bottle so no issues.

If he won't take the bottle you'll probably have to have a stand off!
