HI, our DD loves being worn and we (esp. her Dad) love wearing her. We have her in the front pack, which I don't think is great for her wee spine, legs etc and would prefer that she had the option to turn away from the world if need be (even v alert babies need down time),
From looking at sling babies website I think a woven wrap sling is the best option for her as she grows. Has anyone had a good epxeriance with a brand? They are expensive so I'd like to invest wisely. |

Hippymama uses them I think, hopefully she sees this 
I've got a Storchenweige coming soon, so will be able to give you a wee review then. Neobulle is also a good one, sold through Bebops. ATM we use our SSC the most, it's easiest to use I find, can do front and back carries and she happily sleeps in it (she's 1). Let us know what you end up going with and what print/colour you go with - I love woven wraps

It is definitely worth spending the money on a Storchenwiege wrap, or as M2N has suggested you can get NeoBulle wraps from BeBops (Aquabub sells Storch wraps). I think though, that there are also Hoppediz wraps on TradeMe and even though I haven't used one I have heard good things about them.
As much as I love wrapping though, I too am in the SSC camp - it is the easiest carrier I have next to my mei tai's. ------------- Mama to two earth walkers & two angels. I use both a Storche and a Hoppediz interwoven wrap and highly recommend them. I started with a Moby, but found it got too hot in summer and as Wyatt grew, Moby stretched. I recommend to anyone now to stick with interwoven material, so much better for air flow and sturdy wrapping.
I prefer Hoppediz because they sew a tag in the middle of each side of the wrap and is easy to line up the sides and there's also a pocket at the end so once you are wrapped, you have a pocket to chuck your phone/keys in. I've used the wrap less and less as my little man has found his independence and doesn't want me for long periods, now the Ergo is easiest to pop him on - off -on - off... |

We've just bought an ergo cuz tried a woven wrap but it took too long to get Bethany into it and she hated the process (not to mention DH hating it too). It's brilliant! I'd def look into one if I were you - we picked one up for a good price on trademe, so don't feel you have to spend the $$ to get a brand new one. Bethany loves it, and even more importantly, DH is absolutely sold on it which says a lot!
Also - the woven wrap I have is one I made (with the help of a forum mum) modelled on a moby wrap. It's great, does the job (except for the fact that Bethany doesn't like it lol), and cost me about $10 all up to make. (The fabric is gorgeous if I might say so myself!) So if you're tight for cash, I'd think twice before splurging on an expensive one if you're opting for a wrap. Hope that helps anyway! Have fun picking one :) -------------

The ergo, does look good. I do note that it says that you can't face the baby outward.
Are there any carriers that allow you to safety face bubs outwards, i.e. not put pressure on spine? Am asking this as we have the world's nosiest baby who loves looking around. Trade is a great idea to try a few things. |

You can face baby out in a wrap, but I'd rather put baby on my back than wrap facing outwards on my front - because this way if they get overtired or overstimulated they can't really shelter or snuggle in to you as easily, nor sleep. ------------- Mama to two earth walkers & two angels. Ya that's what I prefer too HippyMama, I just use the Ergo and pop him on my back, facing my back. Then he falls asleep, he's snuggled up into my back. I'm sure this works with the interwoven wraps too, but my bubs isn't patient enough for the back tie. I've given up. Maybe #2 will have more patience.
