How long is she going to be in daycare for? I have friends who are BF and there bubbas who are the same age as your girl and refuse to take a bottle so they just have water in a sippy cup at daycare and BF as soon as they are picked up. Surely she will eat if she is hungry and you aren't there to feed her?? Maybe watching the other kids at daycare eat will encourage her?

No help, but good luck.
How about just giving std adult food? Maybe she doesn't like being treated like a baby?

Have you tried different types of bottles? Or someone else giving her a bottle of milk with you nowhere near her? Will she eat fruit out of one of those mesh feeder things?

Alot of Ty's finger food ended up on the floor too (still does), until I found out what he did and didn't like... sticks of cheese are a fav, as are little sandwiches.

Sorry I can't be of much help, I hope you find a solution soon

TysMummy I think you should try the Plunket Family Centre. I'm not sure whether they have them in the Waikato - so if not, try Plunketline. They have been SO helpful to me when I've got stumped with my baby (both Plunketline and the Family Cntr).

A couple of suggestions you've probably already tried. Offer solids FIRST, BEFORE offering milk. Give your soft food that needs to be fed to her, then finger food, eg. fish fingers, pasta shapes and THEN give her milk or water in a cup. If you give milk or water first, she will get full and not be interested in solids. But I'm assuming you're already doing that. Many babies prefer finger food as opposed to being fed so see what you can do with that.

Really feel for you. Sounds like you're trying everything you can think of and I doubt I've got anything new to add.

Different foods? My DS loves greek yoghurt mixed with mushed fruit (banana/prunes/pears). Smoother food? Chunkier food? Some babies prefer fruit, some veges. DS prefers watties meat meals to home made.

He prefers it when I wipe a little on his lips then give him a minute to lick it off and have a think about whether he wants to eat it. (open mouth is yes, closed mouth is 'have you got a better offer?')

Have you tried letting her have the spoon and guiding it to her mouth? (with suction bowl) Tried this with DS, but think he was a bit young.

Oh year, and if it's a weight thing your worried about. Milk (BF or FF) is better for putting on weight than solids (to spite popular opinion).
