I was just reading my hospital notes and it says that cord blood was taken...

Anyone know why the would do that? I wasnt told about it and I dont remember being asked either.... (but I dont remember much about when he was born tbh....)

I think they test the pH of the cord blood and to test for infection? .. i know they test for something im just trying to remember what it is.

if you are Rh- they take some to test babys blood type to check to see if you need Anti-D

I am not RH- so it wont be that...

gah i have baby brain so bad... i know they stuffed up mine, because they then had to come and give B a bloodtest. but i cannot for the life of me remember what they needed it for. They got his blood type from the cord blood but were meant to test something else as well. arghhH! must remember now its annoying me
