Jeepers theres a few out there, and expensive!

I wanna start buying some and have like one of each different type for when baby comes. Then I can experiment and use what I like, so what would you recommend? I hope this will save DH being sent out for stuff one day as I'm trying to get organized and have this stuff at home!!

How often do you use it? What would you recommend?

I second purelan. It was the only one I tried and it was awesome - start using it right from the beginning, it will help protect them before they get damaged. Better to work at prevention rather than a cure

I used Lansinoh and found that fantastic, only one I tried too. I think that so long as it's got lanolin in it you can't really go wrong!

Ive only used the sample you get in the bounty pack after you have baby, Lansinoh I believe it is, and its fantastic!

I wouldn't buy to much of it as you honestly only need the tiniest amount each time you use it!

I've had both purelan and lansinoh - they have the same ingredients and I found both great.

I had a tube of purelan and lansinoh and to be honest I used the purelan once. The lansinoh is unopened. You don't need to stock up. Both of those are virtually the same product just different brand so just get one tube and wait and see if you actually need it.

Yeah, I used the purelan too, and found it excellent. I only needed it for the first couple of months though, max. I still have a good 1/2 a tube left, and I use it every day as a lip balm now! (Which, incidentally, it is also fantastic as!)

I used lanisoh, once. It was great, but like the others have said, you don't need to use much.

Great tip re: lip balm Joscia

I didn't use lanolin based creams as DP is allergic and I didn't want to introduce it to DD just in case.

I used Lucas PawPaw cream and tried the mahu nipple cream. Both of which were good. I got some little blisters and mainly used the PawPaw cream for that. But as others have said you need such a little amount I still have heaps left!

I used Lanisoh, still have about 3/4 of that tube left, so am well stocked for this time too
If you want another to try get Lucas Paw Paw ointment as I use that on Taylors scrapes and scratches so would be dual purpose I guess, tho I've never used it as a nipple cream.

Purelan was great but it totally ruined my (expensive) feeding bras - should have been using breastpads but I didnt even think to because I wasnt leaking at that stage. I switched to Lucas' Pawpaw after the first week or so and just use that now if things get a bit sore (3 months on).

a little breastmilk on the nipple is suppose to help too... and its free !!

i used Lansinoh and it worked a treat... as everyone has said it really does go a long way.. one tube is all you will need... as you feed more and your nipples toughen and get used to it you wont even need any cream

Good Luck mama

Oooh I was told I'd need heaps of this! So it seems to be split pretty evenly between Lansinoh or Purelan? I'll just find one tube of that, and one a of Lucas Pawpaw stuff and I should be sweet!

Thanks for your help I was looking at the price of this stuff going OMG!!! Thinking I'd be needing heaps!!

I used lansinoh maybe twice. I bought a tube thinking I'd need it, but nope.

Yep, just one tube to start with is all good :) I used purelan and swear by it! Although I did end up stocking up on it later on so that I could have a tube lying anywhere where I'd potentially be feeding Bethany - 1 in the nappy bag, 1 beside the bed & 1 in the lounge    You can get diff sized ones, I only had the tiny little one at first and that was plenty to keep me going for a while.

Just as an aside - pawpaw ointment (otherwise known as papaya) is fantastic for bubs too. We chose to use nothing except almond oil as a barrier on Bethany's bottom, and if it looked sore at all we'd lather her up with pawpaw cream and it made all the diff! ;-)

All the best hun!
