I'm doing a bakers dozen of Itti Bittis. So far am leaning towards the SIO, but now wondering if the AIO might be easier? More Dad-friendly etc?
Have you found that the SIO's were easy enough to figure out after a while, or would you recommend going to a AIO? |

Personally I prefer the AIO to the SIO mainly because I didn't like the way the inserts of the SIO sat at the back of the one I had.
My hubby loves the AIO nappies

| I have no opinion either way but I really don't get the whole dad friendly thing. No nappies with snaps are hard to put on. I'd just let DH know which snap settings we were on with our pockets and it was fine. And those snap in inserts are colour coded anyway. |

Having had both, but only having used the SIO, I think that it's hardly complicated at all. Especially if you pop 'em together when doing the washing, it'll make no difference -------------  http://lilypie.com"> |

I've just bought a SIO, and I don't really understand how it all fits together. I may be overthinking this... so any advice would be greatly appreciated
I can snap it all together. But does then the big bit just fold into three and go underneath the hourglass shaped bit (yellow snaps) so that they sit in the nappy just on top of each other? Don't they move around? Do you always use both layers, so it's effectively 4 layers in the nappy? If you use a mini booster as well would you use it with the big/fold-in-three layer? Or just with the hourglass bit unless you have a really heavy wetter or overnight? I thought there would be instructions on the itti website, but I can't seem to find any. Maybe it's meant to be foolproof

The tri-fold part goes under the hourglass bit. If you stretch out the gathers in the cover, you'll see it does fit. I had to get DH to help me work it out the first time.
The itti has more absorbancy than the prefolds, but may not last overnight. I use a bitti boo and that lasts all night. I go through 3-4 bitti d'lish in the day time (way fewer than I went through in prefolds!). I change every 3-4 hours. They are never soaked through, so I could probably go longer. She's a once-a-week pooer though, so I don't have no2's to worry about usually. I guess you could use them overnight if your bub isn't sleeping for long stretches, but I don't want a wet bottom to be a reason for her to wake up, so I'm optimistically using nappies that last all night ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

Thanks for that! I knew it must fit - it just didn't make sense when I looked at it.
Is the main difference between a bitti boo and the other itti's the stuff they are made out of? I mean is the bamboo just more absorbant? I'm not sure why the bitti boo's aren't waterproof - I guess I figured they'd use the same fabric for the outer and have a really fantastic absorbant nappy! That's why I didn't buy them - I figured it was better to not need the separate cover! At the moment the lad is pooing every 2-3 days, so it's pretty straightforward there. And we're using disposables overnight. But since he doesn't usually sleep more than 4-5 hours in a go yet the itti might do the job if I use the booster. I also seem to be seeing all your topics I bought a half n half bakers dozen because I couldn't decide. Each nappy seems to take the same drying time, though I am going to get more inners for the SIO soon so I can have effectively more to go around. I would go for a medium bakers dozen too. Libby's in her mediums now and not on the tightest snaps either. If you want to come down one day I can show you how each works and I have most of the colours. The online pics really don't do them justice. The colours I thought I wouldn't like I absolutely love. Personally I have found them to be a lot more absorbent than an Itti and suitable for bigger babies. The booster does snap in and there is an extra mini booster with the couture giving you up to 8 layers of bamboo. If you've got a skinny baby I'd tend towards the AIO with perhaps some bamboo mini boosters, cause the SIO is definitely more absorbent.
