Is 11 weeks too young to roll? Bubs decided today that if she doesnt like tummy time she tries to roll over, I had to assist her twice but now every time I have tried to put her on her tummy she starts rolling!! Not sure if shes putting her arm in right place thou... Also

Do you remember at how many months did your baby fully have their head up with tummy time?

Jude rolled front to back at 10 weeks - he did it everyday for a week or two and then didn't do it again (unless by accident) until about a month ago after he had learnt to roll back to front.

ETA: Jude has always had a very strong neck - we have photos of him holding his head up (and keeping it up) while on his tummy at 4 days old. We didn't realise how weird that was until we started socialising with other babies.

Jake was about the same age.. only did it for a week and then was on to something else.. he has only rolled back to front once.. in his cot and I missed it (I know he did because I put him down on his back and i found him sitting and he cant sit up from lying on his back).

Jake also had a strong neck from birth, he was lifting his head on my chest in the hospital...

He didnt start holding himself up with his hands until about 5 months though...

no way is it too young, our DD started rolling the day before she was 7 weeks! it's totally a anytime thing, same with teeth etc... not sure about the head thing, but it was maybe around 5 weeks?

Morgan was rolling tum to back every day from 6 weeks (could NEVER keep her on her tum, and she started crawling from a sitting position, not her tum!). She went the other way before 3 months (can't really remember as she didn't like tummy time so didn't go that way much). Jake had heart surgery at 6 weeks so no tummy time til 10wks, and was rolling by 12 weeks. Definitely not too young. Both my kids could hold their heads up right from the start. I can't really remember when they were right up (arms fully stretched) but I think it was around 3 months.

Callum rolled from front to back at 7 weeks old. Which was a week before his EDD He held his head up on tummy from very early too, I think from 4 weeks? The rolling he did for a month or so and then he started getting chubby and he couldn't move his weight so easily anymore

Esme had her head up at birth but had real control from about 2 weeks and first rolled tummy to back at 5 weeks. Although she seems to have forgotten how lately!

as the SPARC booklets say 'it's not the age that they do it, it's the order that they do it in' - if your bub is rolling on her own then she must be ready, some babies will do some things super early and then might take longer to do other things, but they all get there in the end!

DS was holding his head up for minutes at a time from birth.. (he was 11 days overdue) and standing with strong legs from about 6 weeks

Rolling from tummy to back at 6 weeks and back to tummy about 8 weeks...

Hes trying SOOO hard to crawl now and just becomes sooo frustrated and has a wee tandrum !! (mummy cant help but laugh at him coz he looks sooo funny!!)

DD rolled front to back at 2 1/2 weeks, but I think that was a fluke cos she hasn't done it again.

Jamie started rolling back to front tonight and he is 12 and a half weeks, he also rolled over again from his front onto his back, but only did it once or twice.   He's my placid baby :D

Sam was waaaaaaaaaay early, but then he was super super super energetic, verging on hyperactive as a newborn.

Hi inlove.

Kaelen was rolling front to back at 10 weeks and back to front at 4 months.

Isabella has been rolling front to back for awhile now (can't remember exactly) and started rolling back to front the other day. She never stays where i put her. lol. From birth she always rolled onto her side. Which is how she sleeps.

What day was your bub born? I think she must be pretty close to my DD.

DD has rolled front to back for a few weeks now, but there is an element of luck in it, I think. If her arms aren't in the right place she can't do it. She also rolls back to side, but not side to front.

She can hold her head up pretty well but it does tend to sag when shes tired.

Every baby is different tho.

How are you going with the sleeping now? I raised the head of the cot to see if it would help the spilling and DD slept 9 hours the first night and 7 hours last night. I feel heaps better!!

DS was rolling back to front at 5 wks, and he had a very strong neck from day one. I remember seeing him hold his head up during skin to skin
