I stopped taking the BCP (Microgynon) at the end of Nov 09 (three months ago) after taking it for a number of years. Whilst AF has turned up a couple of times (longer cycles than I remember too), I am pretty sure I haven't ovulated.
I know & have been told that it can take up to a year to get out of your system but just wanted to get some feedback from others who have come off BCP also. How long until you felt that your cycle was back to "normal" and no longer affected by BCP? (Or got that BFP?!)

I was on Estelle for 15 years and came of it at the beginning of October. My cycles where pretty normal again quite quickly. I started proper charting in December and recently got my BFP.

I was on BCP for about 10yrs, came off in July, got AF that cycle and was pg the next month. But that may just be me as I got pg with Ben in our 2nd mth of trying as well.
Good luck

I was on microgynon for 9 years. I had 35 day cycles before I went on it.
After I stopped, I got AF 26 days after my last withdrawal bleed, then must have ovulated 14 days later and conceived my DD.

Hey Blondes away
I came off BCP properly in October last year (was never very consistent at taking it for the last year though) and to be honest wasn't sure how long my cycles were. On the pill they were standard 28 days but off the pill they were 37/38 and 38. We got a BFP in jan this year...so 3 months after coming of BCP
Hope your TTC journey is a short one

Hiyah
I was on Microgynon for a number of years before coming off in November 2005.
I got pregnant with DD in May 2007, but I think that was bad luck on my part, as my cycles were fairly regular in that time. (*eta, way late, but re-reading it I want to clarify that it took that long to get pregnant, not bad luck that I got pregnant in the first place...)
I then went onto the mini pill while breastfeeding (for 12 months) then switched back to Microgynon in January 2009. I came off again in September and got pregnant first month off.
I guess that doesn't help much, but just shows you can get pregnant the month after coming off
Good luck!

I came off Femodene almost a year ago - my doc suggested figuring out my cycle would be useful in the event that we had difficultites TTC.
I was back in a 28-30 day cycle within a couple of months and then we had our first "go" at TTC in Jan.... and here I am. Still a little

I was on the pill for 11 years (minulet, then microgynon, then norimin)
DH and I decided to start TTC in August 09, and we got our BFP on 2nd December 09.
My cycles were way messed up and I definitely didn't feel like things were even close to 'normal' even when we got BFP... my cycles were 42 days long and my temps were a bit scattered too.
I'm an incredibly impatient person so I was starting to get a little frustrated but then BFP came along. Just have to try to keep positive!

BA your charting now arnt you? If you dont ov this or next cycle I would take your charts into your GP and show them you arnt oving. They can do CD2 and CD21 tests and confirm the no ov and poss start to get you sorted... Its just waht I would do (being impatient ), I see it as better than kicking yourself a year down the track wishing you had done more to get it sorted earlier on...

Thanks all for posting your experiences. I know I'm just being impatient & was just hoping I was one of those people who came off BCP & whoa what do you know UTD... FX for next month.
And yes Emmi, I'm charting now which has been really good to actually figure out where I'm at. If I hadn't been charting I would have thought I was ovulating (have all the other signs except temp rises).
Gosh, and all those times when we weren't TTC & had an oops - shouldn't have worried so much! Isn't it just the way!

Your allowed to be impatient hun! I hope next cycle your body remembers what its ment to do and your UTD If not though I would take in your charts to your GP and talk to them (they might say go away and come back in 12 months, but if you dont try you wont know)
Hehe totally get you on the not worrying so much on the opps' when you wernt TTC, funny huh
