I've just read through 2 pages of posts on nappy rash and haven't found anything that really seems to cover what Cian's got...

A few days ago he had what looked like a small pimple with a white head come up beside his penis, which hasn't changed, but now beside his bum (ie: on his butt cheek) there is a collection of spots that are getting bigger and look quite blistery. There's no other rash to speak off - his skin looks completely clear apart from the bumps - and have tried pawpaw and sudocream (one of which normally works) and having no joy. it's really bugging him, even with his nappy off...

any ideas? i thought it might be thrush but there's nothing in the crease, just on open buttock so that can't be it eh?

Have a look at this website, it has rash pictures. Maybe get a dr to look at it seeing the normal stuff isnt clearing it. http://www.baby-medical-questions-and-answers.com/baby-thrush.html - Rash pictures

Are you sure it's not thrush? Amber had thrush and they were little bumps all over her bottom, nowhere else.

I would probably try a little canisten if you have it. It does sound like thrush.

thanks for the input - gave him a baking soda bath last night and kept lathering on the sudocream today and seems to be clearing up.... had him at the dr today for an ear infection and he didn't seem concerned, actually said not to put anything on it!

If your baby has thrush do you take them to the doctor?

I did/do to get the cream for cheap (and a little peace of mind)

Alex has something like what you are describing andI took him to the docs, the doc said it was a staph infection(he also took swaps which confirmed this) and he prescribed an antibiotic ointment.

Okay sweet, I will take Sirius, I think he might have a mild case of it. I was wondering why the normal creams weren't clearing it up!
