about having children.

(NB: this is just a fun game about the things that make you wanna have kids essentially)

i thought this would be fun and interesting to find out. i asked my sister this and she said she wanted to have children so she could dress them which i found amusing cos it is totally the truth. lol.

Mine is building forts out of furniture, taking camping trips around the country, building crystal radios/race cars and all that other cool stuff you can buy from shops like nature dicscovery and letting the kids camp in the back yard.

for me, these are the things that sum up all the reasons i wanna have kids, and the things i cant wait to do with them. what is yours??

Hmmm...... taking them camping, outings to the zoo etc, chocolate for breakfast on xmas morning ( a family tradition), spending time at the family bach on Waiheke Island and just in general teaching them new things and watching them grow

Ahhh that was nice and deep and meaningful

Poking around 'discovering' things together, the fascination or excitement in little things that us adults don't think about anymore, the cuddles, watching their personalities develop.

LOL Bizzy!

Orginally (ie before giving birth) it was a yearning to have someone to look after. I just wanted someone to feed, dress, bath, cuddle, overall care for.

Now he is here, I want another one as watching him become a person is just awesome and I cant wait to experience it all again... (not that J is not still being awesome LOL).

But umm, yes, dressing him is a lot of fun (oh as is being told constantly how gorgeous my child is).

I so looked forward to getting them all dressed up in the wee outfits, you do get over that pretty quickly lol.

I can't wait to travel round the world with my kids and learn about the world together.

There are several for me

Playing with the toys again (without getting looked at sideways by other adults)

Getting excited about stuff like Christmas etc and creating new traditions

Dressing them up

But most of all it was just all about the love they give you in return and those little hands curving round your neck to give you cuddles.

The unconditional love! I never understood it until I had kids. Its a love the is so strong it actually does physically hurt. Especially when they come and give you a big cuddle for no reason other than they love you. awwwwwww

Teaching my kids to bake and cook with them standing on a stool in the kitchen in a folded down apron

Reading and re-reading all my favourite books from when I was a kid.

And Christmas and birthdays and family gatherings and camping (when we come home to NZ) and summer days at the beach and backyard cricket ....

Yeah, basically being a kid again

Well, I figured having kids would be a good way to ensure I got grandkids one day .
When I was 6 , my life ambition was to be a grandma one day .
By having kids, stage one of my goal is halfway complete.
How exciting

I get excited about the curiousity, and seeing the world from a fresh perspective.

The having somebody to love, a little piece of me, and watching my baby grow.

I get excited about jumping in puddles, going on adventures, and baking together.

Once my baby arrived (sounds like a parcel huh?), I thought that it was exactly like having a doll when I was a little girl. Even now when I wash his face and hands and get him dressed I feel like I'm playing dolls.

I'm looking forward to hugs. He hasn't quite mastered them yet. And I'm also looking forward to playing with toys again.

And it's GREAT to have an excuse for the house being a shambles.

I just love having someone to go out for lunch with.
Having an excuse to be a kid again.
Having someone to keep me warm at night.
Someone who will give endless kisses and cuddles (for now anyway).

And of course having someone to buy/make clothes for and to dress up

Before I had kids - I wanted them to look after me when I'm old, so I won't be lonely. I wanted a daughter so I could show her everything I enjoyed doing while growing up. Also to dress them up cute. And put on cool themed b'day parties.

Now I still want to do all that, but also love watching their personalities develop, and want to travel with them, and love seeing things fresh through their eyes.

DH just wants to buy toys and play with them.

I was most excited about reading to her - I pictured us curled up together reading the books I loved as a kid. And we do, she loves books - although at the moment it's hard to get her to sit still, even for a book!

Just watching how much Kahtrell learns. He is sooo cute and amazing when I hear him singing songs...from ABC...through to Single ladies and little black box lolz. And the unconditional love we both have for each other. It makes me want to cry sometimes when he holds me at night and gives me kisses. He has a beautiful heart my boy.

and I can't wait to have more!...actually I can...about a year hopefully lol

I totally feel like this, when I was pregnant with Rory I knew I loved him but really didn't know the actual love until I had him...

there are so many things that I am looking foward to and that I am already enjoying with him. One thing I love doing is watching his explore his world and seeing the world through his eyes,
I remember when he was about 5 months old and we took him to the park for the first time. in my mind I thought he was going to be amazed by the playground and love having a swing and seeing all the colours and everything else that goes with a kids playground. but when we got there he couldn't care less about the playground he was way more intrested in studying the bark and didn't take a second glance at the playground lol It made me realise there is so much in this world that we take for granted. So I am loving him showing me the REAL exciting stuff again
