So what happens now?
And by any chance, does anyone know of a midwife in Christchurch who will travel to clients in the country? I live about 45 mins from town, and don't drive.
This is going to be one stressy pregnancy

How many have you tried? I LOVED my MW and her back up but mine is away at that time and her back up is fully booked.
Who have you tried? Also what direction are you in? North or South?

Lincoln Independant midwives, the ones in darfeild, won't try Matricaria because of my last birth, and QCM. I've been advised that due to funding most midwives can't travel like they used too.
I maaay be okay. DH's work is pretty flexible as its a family business. He may do a 4 1/2 day week and a 1/2 day in the weekend, freeing up one afternoon once a month for appts.
I've burst into tears on each phone call. The women have been soooo sympathetic. I feel like such a goose though
edited to add: South. about 30 mins from Hornby.
I'm sorry for my big dramatic first post. Not freaking quite so much now, just emo.

Bugger as I know quite a few out North Canterbury but none out that way.
It is really hard to get MW's to travel for appts before the bubs which is probably what you are finding. Yu could try neg that you travel one appt and they travel the next and they might be more prepared to take you on.

Thanks so much My2angels but I managed to strike it lucky.
We've done exactly that pretty much Peanut, my DH has relatively flexible work hours, and has been wanting some time at work on saturdays, so one a month and more often when the appts increase, he'll work a 4 1/2 day week and a few hours on a sat, to give us an afternoon for appts and shopping etc in town. Most of our appts will be in town, but they'll come out for the first, most of the last, and the antenatal .
Phew....I was so scared for a minute there......
