I'm in need of a good/great present to help cheer my friend up
she found out this week she had Kidney Cancer  she will found out on Tuesday wither she need surgery and chemo or just chemo
so what can I get her? I'm making some homemade baking so will give her some, but I think it needs something else Ideas please |

| A little flowering plant in a pot, something she can give a bit of love to but if she's unwell and has no energy, will survive a few days left to it's own devices. |

a hug a shoulder to cry on someone to tell her that its alright for her to be pissed off , scared, feeling hard done by . And then , your time -------------

I'd make up some home made vouchers with stuff like babysitting duties (if she has kids) free for one night. A home cooked meal, a day out with the girls, a full house clean, a shoulder to cry on...
That way she might realise you are serious about being there for her (as sometimes in times like this people pull away and don't realise you ACTUALLY want to help) and then she can cash them in at any time.... |

Thanks lady's for the Ideas, I'm still in shock and as its Tuesday tomorrow I'm actually kinda nervous for her

Some things that I gave to my friend, who just had a year of chemo, that she liked best (whilst she was in hosp heaps and stuff) was preggy pops (because nausea/vomiting is a major side effect of most chemo) and these soft slipper/sock things that she could wear around the house/hospital as well as in bed.
The vouchers for babysitting/meals/housework etc would be very valuable. But initially your support and time and hugs are most important... write a nice supportive note or something that she can look at when she needs a pick-me-up. My friend likes reading through cards/letters and looking at photos that she has all around her of friends/family. ------------- Chloe (4 years) and Oliver (3 years). |
