Hi girls,
DH and I need an air bed to take away with us this Xmas and I was hoping to get some recommendations.  DH has a really bad back and he usually can't do anymore than 2 nights on one of those Intel standard air beds you buy from Kmart and The Warehouse. We are going to need the air bed for at least a week so I have been looking at the more expensive ones.
As I am pregnant, I toss and turn a lot during the night so those 2 level ones you see on TV really appeal, but I think they only come in doubles – not queen and that won't be enough room as my husband is rather big (and I'm getting that way, too). Then there are the ones you get on frames which might be good. I'm also wondering if the ones in Kathmandu are any good? ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We got one the other week from the Warehouse - it was $100 but its brillant, its a big one so not one of those little cheap ones, it also blows up by plugging the cord into a plug - takes 4 minutes to inflat - how cool is that?!
You can have it quite firm which is good and it barely lost any air overnight which was good! We found it brillant, I have a bad back so needed something good. It is queen size. ------------- TTC 6 years IVF it is IVF/ICSI round one 10 eggs, 8 mature, 3 fertilised BFN IVF/ICSI #2 = 22 eggs! 20 mature, 15 fertilised, 1 fresh transfer and 2 frosties BFN 2 Frosties still in freezer thank god |

the double layer ones on tv look good aye.
we have had a few airbeds that have all gone down, mostly cheap ones. however i won a single coleman brand airbed and have had it for 3 years now and i have never had a problem with it. i would recommend that brand. -------------  http://www.myfitnesspal.com/weight-loss-ticker">

Personally I prefer a thermarest for camping, or two single/twin air beds next to each other as I toss and turn as well, and keep Dh awake regardless. Nope, in a tent. We have one of the queen sized single level air beds from The Warehouse already, but it doesn't cut the mustard. It deflates ever so slightly halfway through the second night and DH has difficulty getting in and out of it due to it being so low to the ground (he has a lumber bulge so it's quite serious back pain). That's why I'm currently looking at the ones with two layers or the ones on a frame but there's so many to choose from, I don't know where to start.  ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We have an inflatable mattress from Kathmandu (inflates to 10cms) and it is awesome! We bought it off TM a couple of years ago. My DH has a really bad back and has had no problems when sleeping on it. Some friends slept on it over the weekend and went to Kathmandu yesterday to see if they could find one.
The only downside with the one we have is it's pretty bulky in the car |

We have the same one as BooBoo. Brought it about 3 years ago at The Warehouse. Double level queen size and its never once gone done. Pump is built in and is super easy.
DH is a big guy and we have never had any problems and we sleep on it for a at least 2 weeks at Christmas every year. -------------

They are awesome eh Peanut! Its so comphy and really high which is what I like about it.
I cant remember, does it have a function where you can inflate it without needing power? We have a coleman queen sized one - its not quite double thickness but very close. We did initially purchase one of those double ones from the Warehouse that inflate by plugging them in but after a couple of nights it went flat so we returned it. The coleman one is great, have used it heaps and not had any problems as yet - we got it from Smiths City

BooBoo, I think you just have to hand pump it if you have no power, same as other ones.
My brother brought the same one last year and had no probs with his. I love the fact that you don't really "feel" the other person get in, roll over etc like you do with some airbeds. It is high of the ground so super warm. I slept quite happily on it for 2 weeks 5 weeks after giving birth to #1. -------------
