We've got an ensuite on our bedroom and although we've got an extractor fan the steam still comes out into the bedroom. Is that a problem for babies or am I being a bit over the top

Don't worry about steam - it can be really good for helping with things like asthma or croup. If the room is a bit damp you can use a dehumidifier in there if it worries you.

chelle we also have an ensuite with extractor fan, its not so much the steam but the dampness that can be a problem. just make sure you keep the door shut between the bathroom and the bedroom all the time.
