From past threads that I've read I think heaps of the Oh Baby members have had negative tests early on the turned out to by a BFP a few weeks later, so there is hope!

I don't get a BFP until my AF is at least 13 days late...
With Josiah I tested Wednesday (12 days late) and got a negative, then I tested again Thursday (13 days late) and got a postive, making me 5 weeks 6 days pregnant (confirmed by the Dr that afternoon!)
With this baby I tested 14 days late and got a negative... I thought my body was playing silly buggers so didn't test again for a month but when I did (6 weeks late by that stage) I got a positive. A scan at what I thought was 20 weeks showed I was a cycle out in my dates, and my first HPT was probably done around the time the baby was acutally conceived.

i ended up being 7 weeks along before we picked it up, even with hpt. it can happen, so whatever you do, act as if you were until you find out for sure that you arent, and dont drink!

not to burst the bubble but I was about 2 weeks late and not pregnant. Tests were negative and AF just showed up one day.
Hope that isn't the case for you

I don't know about the others, but I knew I was pregnant before I took the test. I could feel it in myself that I was, my friend also was the same.

Hi Ladies,
This is so wonderful to have people to chat about this with
Im not trying to clutch to straws with this but i wanted to know if there is a possibility as i was going to take Folliculinum and it would harm a bubs so i need to be possitive
Im going to buy another test tommorow and il probably have to keep doing them until i can get an appointment with my GP
Its a pain not getting AF as that would be such a helpful sign!!

It ok, I realised about 1 week after AF should have arrived that something wasn't right (we can't remember dates of AF so I guess when she comes) I then got very sick and finally I went a got a test. I got a pack from the chemist that was $17 and had 3 tests in it (a special and that was only last week). It was at a Radius chemist so try there and you may get the deal I got.

The one I got was, you pee in the cup, use the dipper to get some pee and then squirt it onto the little circle thing. I think they are the ones most used by dr's.

Hi girls,
When you say that it didnt show possitive till 6weeks, 7weeks, 8weeks etc - does that mean 6/7/8weeks past ovulation (conception) or past your period???
|
Posted By: daikini
Date Posted: 30 June 2006 at 7:31pm
We mean 6/7/8 weeks pregnant, dated from our last actual period... so our expected period was 2/3/4 weeks late.

Oh thats makes a difference i date from ovulation as i dont get AFs so maybe it shouldv showed up by now??? - at least 28 days after ovulation....
|
Posted By: daikini
Date Posted: 30 June 2006 at 8:27pm
I believe (although those who know more feel free to correct me! ) that those of us who menstrate should expect AF to arrive 14 days past ovulation (DPO)...
therefore, if (big if) you were due to get AF it should have arrived at 14 DPO so 28 DPO is definitely late! However, there could be other reasons things seem to have gone haywire... maybe a visit to the GP is in order for a bloodtest to find out one way or the other?
Personally, I don't get a postive result until at least 27 DPO, but I also have been known to completely skip AF (due to stress or ill-health) altogether.

Hi Becca,
I had tests a few months ago that showed that my absense of period was due to being on Depo for a year but that i still ovulate??
I was reading over my fertility journal last night and i noticed a pattern - according to my notes on feeling sick, high temp, etc - i have a 28 day cycle! (without the period) so i dont know what relevance that has to my situation but it was still exciting!

I say go to the docs and get a blood test as this will give you an answer one way or the other. I know someone that around 5 or 6 preg tests at the docs - all negative. They couldnt figure out what was wrong with her so did a blood test and found out she was preggers. At this stage she was about 14 weeks.
Anyway good luck and hope you get the news you want

Hi Baysmum,
I'm Hayley and I'm pretty new here too. Dh and I have just found out we're pregnant (yet to be confirmed by G.P). I took 4 tests before I was satisfied there was a faint positive there, but all the signs were there. I think your body has a way of telling you things, so go forth and test girl!!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you

Hi Hayley,
I havnt tested yet - iv just gone and bought a test but i thought itd be better to do it in the morning so il do it first thing tommorow
When i was pregnant with my son i didnt get any sypmtoms until about 3 months and then i got the tiredness and severe tummy cramps, the only reason i did a test was because i was about to go drive stop cars (pretty dangerously! ) and i just got this feeling that i should test to see just in case which was really weird as we were not planning any children at that point.
So im not sure what to look for this time??? iv got the freguent wee thing, bad acne (unusual for me!), tiredness, very moody, tummy cramps, pressure in my pelvis But no sore boobs or anything. I do think that these can be all in my head though so who knows!
We had so much fun with our first pregnancy/bubs experiencing everything for the first time
So i can just amagine how you feel
Let us know how your first doctors appointment goes

Funny you should mention the acne as I have a Mountain of a zit at the moment, to be honest I have a few. Told hubby this morning that he'd better watch out as they are ready to blow Lol. (gross I know!!!)
I also kept wondering if it was all in my head as well, even when I thought I could possibly see a faint positive I thought it was just me willing it to be there.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your morning test

This is just wat i think I don't know if its right or not but from what i know hcg is a hormone u only get from being preg or from fertility drugs and estrogen is a hormone u always have in your body so it shudn't have anything to do wif a positive preg test cos otherwise it wud be positive at diff times of ur cycle. Hope u are preg I'm getting all excited 4 ya

Thankyou girls
Rachael - Thanks for the advice and info youv put things into perspective and now i recall reading that the only fertlity drugs that can affect a pregnancy test are the ones prescribed by doctors (i bought mine over the counter at a naturapath) and that is why you need to be mintored because they arre so strong i guess.. well thats what im hoping anyway
Hayley - yeah i got impatient!!! it was a spur of the moment thing - i was sitting on the couch watching tv and it just popped into my mind to do 1 now and thats what i did if i am pregnant then id probably be bout the same as you (due early march ) which will be fun for us as my son will turn 3 on March 9th so we will be cutting it close

Hi Ladies,
As you may have noticed i have deleted my pregnancy ticker because i had a misscarriage the other day
I wasnt feeling the best and i had started bleeding so i went to the doctor and had my HCG levels taken and they had dropped down to 17!!!! so it was obvious what had happened
Im having more bloods done tommorow but im hoping that they have gone back down to normal so we can move on and start TTC as soon as possible.
As hard and horrible as it is to have had to have gone through that, we are ready to move on and feel happy again
Hopefully i will have some positive news to report in a few weeks
Good luck to the rest of you
From Amber
