Help please.
DS has fractured his ankle and is in a cast for a week with no weight bearing. I need ideas that will keep him sitting as he is usually the most boisterious kid (hence the injury). I am dreading the next week and am hanging out for them to put the fibreglass walking cast on!

Drawing.
Make a water table at highchair (Might work out well if it need a good clean anyway )
If he sits in the buggy happily I would suggest trips to the zoo / Orana Park.

Jigsaw puzzles
Look through some books together
Play dough
Drawing
DVD's/TV
Sit on the floor together and play with blocks, cars etc. He will sit for longer if you are down on the floor with him.
Singing and finger games (incy winsey etc)
Take him for a walk in the buggy and point out interesting things - try to find construction site if you can.
Put a bag over it and put him in the sandpit, he'll dig for ages. Otherwise just give him a low dish filled with sand or dirt and a small plastic spade

Good thinking on the plastic bag on it for the sandpit!
Thanks for all your ideas. I now have a big stack of playdough, drawing stuff etc.
The problem was that he was in full time DC so we didn't have a huge amount of stuff at home and was waiting until after his birthday and christmas to buy stuff to see what he would get. Have now got some more stuff at home.
