When he was little (up to about 4 months) - both. THen I went to eat-play-sleep routine so eat when he woke up.

At the moment I feed her on waking, and then offer a bit more when she is wrapped up and ready to go back to bed.
She doesn't normally have much, if any, but it relaxes her and also means she shouldn't wake up hungry before her next proper feed time.

Not breastfed here, but I feed her when she wakes IF she's due for a feed. But she's been routine feed since pretty much day 1, and some people obviously don't agree with that.
Up to you, I guess the only thing is if you feed them constantly are they getting full feeds? You'll soon work that out though

At 7mths we're demand feeding - works for us, so in a 12 hour period (daytime) she would feed 6-8 times. She has only ever fed for less than 5 mins so its not like she's continuously attached to my boobs
Schedule feeding isn't for us - I way I see it is that Breastmilk is more than just a 'feed' - it quenches thirst, provides comfort as well as providing sustenance. For those reasons, I wouldn't stretch her feeds out.
But, I think it comes down to what works for you & your baby, what works for me won't necessarily work for everyone else.

I feed him whenever he is hungry. Generally during the day he wants half a feed as he wakes up and another when he gets ready for a nap as well as in between as he goes sometimes 5 hours before a nap. It works out roughly about every 2 to 2 and a half hours during the day.

That's my philosophy too so he was 'demand'/cue fed the entire 18.5 months he was feeding.
And I generally ignored the clock too, so except when he was older, I never really knew (or much cared to be honest) how long he fed for.

When she wakes up I don't want her falling asleep on me but sometimes her she only goes one sleep cycle so we hold off feeding her straightaway I was doing three hourly give or take abit but am now trying 4hourly as she is now three mths

Yep exclusively BF here. We do the feed play sleep routine and feed when he wakes from both sides with a 5 - 10 minute break in between.
If he's going through a growth spurt I will feed him just before going back to bed as well, but dont let him fall asleep on the boob.
ETA Generally he feeds 3 hourly, but on the odd occasion he'll go half an hour either side of that. I dont let him go longer than 3.5 hours between feeds except for overnight.

Both - usually not long after she wakes up if at home, and then feed to sleep as well for about one or two of three naps in a day. Just depends on what we are doing really

On waking .... I try to follow feed, play, sleep. Every now and then she will be up too long or not settle well so will have another feed before nap.

That's pretty much what we do. I change Ben in between sides and sometimes I get caught up doing something for Jack so Ben ends up having the 2nd side at nap time and falls asleep
