turns out to be a various vein (sp)
was speaking to the midwife today and she said it can be common in pregnancy due to the extra blood flow

Tastic- I feel your pain hun!  I had something similar to this in pg....we thought it was a v vein as well but went to a gynae specialist dude and he said it was 'unusual pg swelling'. Lasted the whole pg and meant special cuddles was off the menu for the duration.  It hurt to walk, pee and sit. It ony went a couple of months after the birth too. Hope yours doesn't get that bad. If it's any consolation it didn't make birth more painful..as my gynae said (and I quote) 'birth is bloody painful anyway so it won't make any difference'.   He was right lol

Tastic I get pretty swollen down there too. I've noticed that it's worse when I'm in heaps of pain with SPD. One thing I've found helps is dabbing some witch hazel down there. It's really good for reducing swelling.

That's one thing I didn't get during my pregnancy with Emily, but this time round OMG they started about a month ago. Seem to be getting worse this last week. I find they're more painful first thing in the morning, or after I've been sitting for a while. And I seem to have them only on the left side of things and up my bikini line. they really bulge out it's scary looking!
