Usually, DS goes to sleep with a dummy, sometime later he looses it (no big deal), sometime later he wakes, when I go in to him his eyes are open and he gives me a lovely "Mummy's here to play" smile and the day continues.
Not today.
DS is whingeing in his sleep. He's clearly very tired. Every few minutes he starts crying, it's a high pitched whinge cry. I go in, he's still got his eyes closed and he's tossing and turning. I put his dummy back in - asleep almost instantly. Then a few minutes later the dummy's out and we do it again.
Any idea's what's up? Better still, any idea's on how to calm him down and help him get some proper rest?

How old is he? my DD did that a bit last week. Turns out she had a bit of a tummy bug, plus she just rolled over for back to front for the first time yesterday. Sometimes they are a bit unsettled before a milestone...

Could be a number of things

1. A dependance on the dummy. Although that doesn't usually happen until nearer 4 months I do know friends who have had to drop it around your sons age as their babies kept waking for it

2. Illness

3. Overtiredness

See how he goes tomorrow.
