Hi ladies, as you know Ive had the flu for two days now and thought I was improving. This is my third day and Im still full of it but better. Dont think I have a temp anymore but now when I cough I have traces of blood in my flem and pain running along the lower belly, real low every minute or so. Real tight sore feeling. Im thinking about going to the doctors today, although i dont have the funds. Hope they will just open an account for me. id rather be safe than sorry. Jaxon must be ok cos hes kicking me heaps right now.

Poor you Kelly! Sounds like a good idea to get checked out, you don't want to risk getting infections or anything while you're pregnant. Take care and let us know how you're doing.

OH Kell that is no good. Go to the doctors. I thought Antenatal Visits were free?!?!? Maybe i was wrong. I hope you feel better soon. The only time i have ever had blood in my flem is when i had tonsiltis (sp?) and i wasn't pregnant then.

Gosh my spelling is bad!!!

Hey Kelly - sorry to here that you aren't feeling any better....sometimes blood in phlegm can mean a chest infection and you may have strained some muscles with the coughing. If you don't have the funds for a GP right now, you can always head into A&E at your local hospital and be seen there. You'll probably have to wait quite a while as you won't be a priority case, however it is an option for getting checked out if you are concerned (you can't be turned away from medical care because you can't pay...they're not allowed to). I'd recommend doing this if you get a temperature that won't go down with panadol as well.... (unfortunately the free antenatal visits relate just to strictly pregnancy issues - if you get a cold while you are pregnant and have to go to the GP, they still charge you). Oh - and if you are concerned that the pain in the lower belly is baby related, give your LMC a ring and say that you want to see them ASAP to get checked out - it's not worth sitting around getting more worried about - they are there to provide the best care to you and bubs.
Hope you feel better soon -

Ring the nurse at the Doctors...they are really helpful.
Paige has blood in her snot and flem (sorry tmi) all the time and when I had asked about it, it was just little vessels that had burst. Not a biggie but get it checked out if you are worried!!
