OK im a complete newbie so this is going to sound daft. I really wanted to give birth privately in Chch, but now that I am living in Taihape, I have the Wanganui/Manawatu region. Does anyone have any reccomendations, I tried to google private birthing centres, private hospitals but the only place I could come up with was Palmerston North hospital and Wanganui. Can anyone tell me what options I have or tell me personal experiences if you gave birth in this area. Home birth is not an option as we live in a very remote area. |

| We dont have birthcare or anything like that in the area. Really your only choices are hospital or home. Palmy hospital is good, I've given birth twice there. I don't like how I was treated by the obs with my 2nd but that was an extreme case. With Daniel though it was great. The MWs were all really lovely there. |

Levin and Dannevirke both have 'birthing centres' so I'd presume there may be something similar near Taihape too. Perhaps ask your MW? But yeah, there is no birthcare or similar in Palmy. ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">
