Im hoping someone has some ideas for me to try.
For the last 3 weeks every time Kaelin gets put in her cot she pulls herself up so shes standing & after walking around the cot for awhile gets bored & starts screaming to get down. I've dropped the cot as low as it will go but thats not making any difference. I've been trying to teach her to get herself down but she keeps falling back & hitting her head. So I've been going in after a couple of mins of screaming, calming her down (usually by cuddling her, i leave her in the cot if i can though), tucking her in and leaving, and then it starts again. Its taking up to 3 hours to get her to sleep doing this so its really not working! Does anyone have any other ideas how i can manage it so she learns to go to sleep and/or get herself down so then she can go to sleep? Because its taking so long to get her down shes missing a sleep most days & then is too tired to eat so its all turning to custard as shes not putting on enough weight as it is so im supposed to be feeding her twice a night but have only been doing once because im too tired. Just put it on loose enough so she can roll off her tummy if she wants too. We always put Issy on her back but left enough room for her to roll over. ------------- Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months) I did it .. 41 kgs gone! | or try a sleeping bag. Alex was exactly the same, tummy sleeper and all, and we went the sleeping bag route and its the only thing that worked. I also tucked it in under the mattress to prevent him from crawling up the cot as he is a mover when asleep. |

| My bubs is in a Sleep T at 11 months old. She had been in it a while and turns around in it no problems and it. Sometimes she does wakes and I think it is cause she is trying to move around but is somewhat restricted - but she settles quickly again. The new trick is standing in it - but once again she can't get far and she does resettle herself. They are definately well worth it - goodluck. |

we did safety sleep..we found with sleeping bag(not sure if all kids but for Ethan at least) he would stand in the bag and then fall worse than before:( ! ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |

I agree! They are honestly the best thing ever! keeps K.A, Caden was the same in the sleeping bags, he would try and walk and fall over worse than when he wasnt in one  ------------- |

yeah im not sure if all kids are but he was always like that:) wasnt till he was more stable and we took safetysleep off that we gave him sleeping bag now he just has flannel pj's and socks and warm room:) ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |

Ds started this whilst we were away and I could not get a safety sleep, so I fashioned my own version.
He's in a sleeping bag, so i threaded a sheet underneath him iykwim so that he can't get up mind you or turn over, so that probably wouldn't help your tummy sleeper - it worked for us, goodness knows he would never sleep otherwise. -------------

Lil miss is 14 1/2 mths and still tied to the bed in her Safety Sleep, otherwise she'd be out of the cot and on her merry way (she has 3 big sisters to follow ). Sleeping bags can be a hazard if they're able to stand in them - the gremlins used to climb out of their cots with them on which gave me the heebie jeebies. -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)
