i have been in a fair bit of pain off and on since saturday. The pain in on the lower side of my bump bellow my belly button and goes right underneath the bump too. Sometimes i can barely walk the pain is so intense. But baby is still moving heaps etc and im sure its doing fine.
Last pregnancy i had kidney dilatation which caused me a lot of pain, this isn't the same pain as that. It is more painful but comes and goes where as the kidney pain was constant.
Any ideas on what this could be? Is it my bump stretching (surely not given its pre-stretched lol) or is it something i should be worried about?

Hiya,

could be round ligament pains? they usually come about fromt things like walking, getting up from sitting/lying and coughing. If it is that then it's just the ligaments stretching, I had it from about 22 weeks and it went away after about month.

here's an excerpt about it from a website:

"Round ligament pain generally refers to a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that pregnant women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester.

You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day — when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.

The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.

You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit."

hope this helps!

thats exactly it. Thank you so much. I didnt think it was anything to be worried too much about given that baby was moving etc. I am chasing after a 1yr old all day so all the bending is really putting a strain i think

Oh, that explains it! I've noticed that a lot when I roll over at night, and when cleaning the ceiling a few minutes ago. And I def agree with the sneezing thing!

Yeah rolling over at night is a bad one too. I have found to combat that one i curled my knees up to my tummy and roll my body as a whole unit. Sounds stupid but then there is no way anything can twist and it removes the pings and pangs of ligament pains.

rolling over at night is rediculous isnt it?!?! am so glad its not just me lol

i have found that if im on my back for too long its worse and funnily enough only my right side is actually even remotely comfortable anymore. have resorted to grabbing the side of the bed and just pulling myself into position

am only 20 weeks and according to everyone... massive so can only imagine how much more complicated things are going to get!
