Hi

My bubs has really started to get too big for her basinet.

Stupid question but should i be transitioning her in any way to her cot or just swap her over?
She had a morning sleep in her cot this morning but i am concerned about tonight and what to do?

Any suggestions welcome

We found the transition really easy and did it at 3 months I think.

We had been away for a couple of nights, came home and just moved him, changed the bedding over to it smelt the same, he uses a mobile to go to sleep so moved that too, and that was that.

The first sleep we tried was his big night sleep and I think he actually slept longer!!

Thanks FionaO - she sleeps at night in her gogo bag so hopefully she just kinda swaps over easy! - she is a great night sleeper at the moment - from 7.15pm till about 7.15am!

We just put Mika into her cot one night. I was a bit worried before hand as she had just started sleeping through. The first night she woke up once, and that was all.

Good luck, she'll probably be fine.

I was going to start with just day sleeps in the cot but because he went so well with the day sleeps that day I just continued with the cot that night as I didn't want to confuse him by going back and forth between the cot and bassinette.
He was fine, like nothing had happened!
Im sure you'll be fine too!

i moved Cory to his cot about a week ago...and all i did was set it up in the morning....he had all his sleeps in it that day, and that night i just put him in it and had no problems...

oh apart from teh fact that i forgot to move the mobile so he was too busy talking to that to go to sleep until i removed it

How do you know when it is time to put baby in a cot? I am hoping to delay as long as possible as I have a beautiful family heirloom bassinette that I want to get lots of use from.... and DH is making a cot.... and I want to give him as much time as possible? Suggestions anyone?

Well you lot were totally right - after havign her day sleeps in her cot she slept right through in it last night! phew!

Georgiegirl - My girl was getting pretty long in basinet and would whack the sides when moving her arms so i shifted her out

Thanks for the answer girls.... And I guess I'll no doubt have a long baby... i'm 5f10" and DH is 6f3"...

The chance of us having a little baby is almost nil.

It also depends on the size of the bassinet, Elias is really long but he is still in his bassinet (cariboo) and he is wrapped so cant hit the sides.
