My DD is turning 1 very soon . . .
What is the best thing to do re introducing cow's milk? She still doesn't eat an awful lot of solids, so will i be better off using 'toddler' formula to supplement her diet. (or should i carry on using the 6months + formula?)
For those that have introduced cows' milk, how have they done this?

Sue, she drinks milk really well still, yes?
I would leave her on formula if she is not eating solids well, as it's important to get all those extras. Milk doesn't have much iron, zinc etc.
If she is drinking milk well, then I would leave her on the normal formula. She can actually get too much from the toddler formula in the way of vitamins. They say that 2 glasses (500ml) gives them most of the nutrients they need in a day.
I tried Jackson on the toddler formula but he hated it. It is very sweet and has a lot more sugar than normal formula. If Catriona likes sweet stuff though, she might quite enjoy it.
BUT, if you want to start limiting her milk intake to get her eating more solids, then the toddler formula will give you reassurance that she is still getting the vitamins and minerals she needs in a smaller volume.
I don't think you need to buy the fancy Gold one advertised. The normal Karicare 1 - 3 year old one seems to have much the same nutrients and is cheaper. I spent quite a while comparing them.

Id leave her on the 6 month+ one it has more nutrients in it then the toddler one
the toddler one is mostly just milk power (the stuff adults use) with a couple of extras in it
I gave the toddler one to Aidan and it just went straight through him and found him to be more hungry and thirsty and he also wet alot more! especially at night time

We put Caden onto the toddler stuff just before he turned one, but then weaned him off it and onto cows milk fulltime, but he is a really good eater, eats anything really.
So I would keep her on the formula until she is eating a good amount of solids.

my daughter was 1 in june and I've just switched her to karicare 1-3 year formua for her bottles, our children dont tollerate a lot of cows milk until they are about 3. We give her cows milk with cereals, in mashed veges, creamy rice, scrambled egg, baking - bikkies, mini muffins etc.
I think maybe because your little girl isnt having that much solids she prob needs the vitamins and nutrients that are in the formula, our daugher is always content after the formula we are using
good luck
