DS was doing well, loving his fruit and veges, slowly going from pureed to lumpy, but he didn't like any type meat at all! But now all he'll eat is toast and vegemite . I'm wondering if it's due to teething, as he's waking up crying at least one a night too. He's been sick again (ongoing problems with wheezing/coughing)this week, with only one day at daycare and the rest of the week home with me. I've tried to sorts of foods, things he's eaten with gusto in the past, plus new things (not many though), but no luck. His formula intake has changed too, he used to be 4 x 240mls daily, but now 5 x 180mls, as he can't seem to drink anymore at one time. We've tried offering food first, but he still won't eat (except the toast).
Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated!

I have gone back a step, but no luck. He clams up, hands push the spoon away and I've even tried using my fingers (clean of course ) and no go. My DH and my mum have also tried. I will see if his carer at daycare has any luck tomorrow.

Hi, I'd say he is teething, maybe try making up his formula with custard powder (this is what plunket suggested I do when we had eating issues). My bubs in just over 10 months old - I'm at the moment down to two bottles a day (I'd say around 500mls at a push, I hate this but I can't force it anymore than we are) - we have another tooth coming thru, she has been particularly fussy today but we have down a full jar of Watties Banana cereal, toast, a sandwich, yoghurt, small amount of chicken, pumpkin, kumara and carrot for dinner with some blueberry and apple cereal and one 220ml of formula, DH is on the next one! Maybe try some yoghurt as it will be cold on his mouth - or if you have any fruit Watties jars put one in the fridge and try cold. If he he is eating toast its better than nothing and he is having his bottles!

Thanks for the advice guys. Rhys went back to daycare today and he ate a big bowl of kumara and pumpkin at lunchtime (cheeky monkey). I tried him on carrot and pumpkin tonight and hey presto, down it went. I'm thinking it is related to teething though, as he seems more settle today and not dribbling as much. Rhys loves the watties creamy banana porridge too. He ended up eating the whole jar last night. Don't they make us worry!
