How mean breastfeeds per day is your 7/8/9 monther having?

My little boy has 3 solid meals a day and will have approx 4 - 5 breastfeeds per day. The first feed of the day is always guzzled down, but the others seem to be just short snacky feeds. I know plunket recommends baby has 600ml of breastmilk a day at this age but how can you tell if you are breastfeeding?

I'm not so much worried.. just curious as to what other babies are doing! Thanks

When Lilly was 8-9 months she was having 4-5 feeds a day. They were not big feeds, but she was still happy and healthy.

Keep up the good work dylans_mummy

We are still on about 6-7 feeds a day here, sometimes more. Mine doesn't eat very well at all though.

normally 4 feeds through out the day and depending if he wakes up or not sometimes 1 at night. Morning and night feeds are long good ones, day ones are quite short with lots of pulling off and looking around etc...

Hmmm Taylah will have about 7. lol it seems a lot.

She also sometimes wakes once during the night.

She is the same she will have one decent one in the morning, one decent one at about 930-10pm. The rest are just small snack feed, she doesnt stay on the boob longer than 3-5 mins the whole day!!!

Thanks ladies =)    He is pretty happy and lotsa wet naps so i'm sure he's getting all he needs!! It's nice to not be feeding 24/7 (well that's what it used to feel like haha) but it also feels strange like I should be feeding him more but really he's just fine! If you get what I mean...lol.

Im exactly the same as noodle! - except the first one is around 7 - i have read that apparently the first one to go would be that mid morning one - give water/juice instead - anyone else heard this?

Hmmm interesting. Jody usually has 5-6 a day with 3 meals. But has recently dropped her mid morning one. I haven't replaced it with water or juice. Just sleep and toys.

Spencer was bottle fed so a bit different but he dropped the mid morning one first purely cos he started sleeping through it, I didn't replace it with anything, but as he got older and slept less then he started having a snack around 10ish instead.
I wouldn't replace a milk feed with juice personally, not sure I would try to replace it with water either.
