I guess hun it depends what you are going to see him about. If its the first appt I would say they would look at the reason and go thru your notes and get your views on things... this is just a guess mind - I also have my OB appt in soon, mine is due to Rhyley being a ceasar child although I am going for a natural this time I still have to be under an OB just incase!

When I had my first OB referral to the hospital I had a hospital mw appt first, like they weigh you, check bp and proteins, any questions etc. Then you wait again and get seen by the actual OB which went like Chickaboo said. They might run any tests they see necessary (ie order bloods/ urine checks).

When I saw the obs it ended up being just a chat and then she did heartbeat, measured, checked position but nothing more intrusive. Mine was cos of trying for a VBAC after a breech and prem rupture of membranes at 35 weeks (although my appointment with the obs with Kyle I was 36 weeks anyway so that was a bit dumb on their part).

My friend is under the high risk team at the moment as she is carrying twins with a shared placenta and she is having fortnightly scans and then just a chat with the obs, much the same as what you have with a mw. I think she may be having bloods more often than you normally would as well.

Good luck, I'm sure the first appointment will just be more for a chat/introduction than anything else.
