Help! I am hungry ALL THE TIME now! Even after having 2 crackers, 2 pieces of toast, bowl of porriage 1/2 hr later I am still hungry and now have to eat constantly through out the day. If I don't eat I start throwing up, so am trying really hard to eat lots of small meals but it seems that no matter what or how much I eat I can never feel full. And despite having a snack just before bedtime I am now waking up at 2 in the morning feeling really hungry and then of course I start throwing up.
Have been reading through the lunch idea thread for ideas of what to eat, but does anyone know what sort of snacks full you up and keep you feeling full for a while? Am going to buy some complan and take in the evening just before bed to see if that helps....but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I find I have to have protein. Eggs or cheese or baked beans or meat.
Otherwise it doesn't touch the sides. -------------

| I eat alot of eggs, and have porridge for breakie.....i havent really had extreme hunger, more extreme thirst. So i dont really have an excuse for gaining more weight than i shouldve.....LOL |

I started having porridge for breaky after reading it on here but the last couple of weeks have gone off the idea of that.
I ate an hour ago and am hungry again, I try and drink lots of water to cut out the hunger but it really doesnt work. the complan idea might be worth trying though, I have a sachet from my bounty pack but am too chicken to try it after having one too many different diet shakes in my time I am very apprehensive  -------------

I don't normally have porriage for breakfast, but we have some in the house coz Ella loves it so I gave it ago this morning- it was OK and it stayed down so I might try having that more often.
Will definitely try having more eggs (was planning on making bacon & egg pie for dinner tonight) and DH went and brought me some complan this morning (which was really expensive, but I guess will be worth it, if it helps me a bit better and it tasted really nice).
Thanks guys. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated- and it's good to know I am not the only one hungry, as I can't remember being this hunger with Ella (maybe I was just too busy throwing up through, and this time I am determined to not let the MS get the better of me!). ------------- Mum to Ella (5) and Tom (2) |

Ohhhhh I'm so with you on this one 
I have to eat every couple of hours (at least) otherwise I start to feel sick. I've been drinking a lot of water, but have noticed that it makes me feel a bit sick if I haven't just eaten. I'm carbs all the way I tried a gingerbread man midmorning, thinking the ginger might help, but sweet things aren't really working for me. I could absolutely wolf down a huge plate of pasta right now, and I've only just eaten

I love Complan. During this pregnancy I've been very meh about eating. If I have to cook it's just not worth the effort cos I'm not that hungry. So I end up with Complan maybe once a week or fortnight. Am still on my first box of it, and compared to what I would pay for the food I replace with it, it's worth it for me. -------------

Have you thought about getting some protein shakes?
I already had some from before getting pregnant but was told to keep having them as snacks, now I beef them up a lot with heaps of fruit (and ice cream when I can  )
Some of them can be pretty costly, the one I have was $50 for 1kg but I joined the gym in Feb and still have over half left. I didn't use it to much in the beginning and forget some days now as well but I still think it's worth it. There are cheaper ones though too :) ------------- http://lilypie.com">

When possible I've started having some meat at lunchtime like chicken. I've got some of those frozen tegal burger things that you can whack in a panini machine and they don't take long to cook (you could keep a whole pack in the freezer at work if you've got a freezer) and then you can either make a burger or chop it up to go in a wrap or pita or on a salad or whatever. They're yummy and I think the teriaki (sp?) ones in the dark green pack aren't too bad for you (could be wrong, best read the back of pack). Or you could make your own to chuck in a panini machine to cook up quick.
The other thing I've been doing is making up those fresh pasta tortellini with some kind of tomato sauce and taking that with me and just heating up in the microwave. I used to split the pack into 3 b4 I was pregnant, these days I have half. ------------- http://alterna-tickers.com">

I know how you feel. I ate a full roast meal the other night, then half an hour later my tummy was rumbling! Like a few people, I have found that eggs help keep you fuller for longer. I normally do them on toast with a little bit of cheese. Also Shapes, for some reason they keep me full. McDonalds frozen cokes are really good for me too. And potato bake...
Large pyrex baking dish... Peel and cube white potatoes to fill until about 1"-1 1/2" from the top of the dish. quick rinse in cold water then fill dish with water until it just covers the potatoes, add a lid (or a plate works if you don't have a lid) and put in microwave for 10-15 mins. (until almost soft) pour out the water add cream to level of potatoes, chicken and/or garlic stock powder (sprinkle over top, or pour half the cream, then add to cream bottle and quick shake for even distibution) then cover the entire top with cheese (edam works best) making sure that the edges are especially well covered then place in the oven on fan bake about 180*C for bout 20 mins or until cream has thickened. tastes so good! |

This may sound odd, but see when your stomach rumbles, is it like the acid in your stomach is eating away at the insides? I can't believe how much mine cries out for food. It really does feel like it's screaming to be fed
