I was feeling quite pleased with myself that at 8 weeks pregnant, I hadn’t had any pregnancy symptoms. This has all changed in the last couple of days and wondered if any other ladies out there had been feeling the same.
The first thing I noticed was when I was given a gentle hug from a friend the other day it felt like my boobs had been put in vice! Along with not being able to walk up a small hill near my house without taking several rest stops (and being over taken my two old ladies!) my body suddenly decides it wants to lie down. Cue me nearly fainting in a 1950s movies way but no where near as glamorous (quite scary really).
Having spent the afternoon with my feet elevated I got a phone call from my husband saying he would be two hours late for dinner as he was busy at work. At this point I lost it, telling him what he could do with the dinner and having an overwhelming desire to shove the phone up his…..
Anyway, when he did return home, my emotions went between feeling tearful, wanting to punch someone’s lights out and laughing at what a nutcase I had been!
So, is this pregnancy then?!!! xxx

Yep, you hit the nail on the head there!
And don't forget throwing up, gagging at the smallest things, feeling stretched and pulled down there all the time! Not to mention the heavy brick feeling, which eventually gives way to something that moves and rolls and kicks and sticks bits of itself into your cervix and ribs.
All the good bits are up ahead though, the heartburn, the not being able to roll over in bed properly, the eating two mouthfulls and feeling like your stomach is sitting somewhere in your throat.
Then you get to give birth and god only knows what that feels like, maybe something like passing a saint bernard out your ass or possibly giving birth to a rotating pineapple, I'm not sure, as I had a c-section, which had it's awful side too!
Buuuuuuuuuut. It's ALL worth it. 100% worth it and then some.
ETA Congratulations on your pregnancy! Are you due in February? There is a February 2010 thread somewhere that is filled with ladies going through all the same things you are.
Oh and welcome to Ohbaby!

Don't forget the constipation, piles and leaky boobs either!! And the brain fog that doesn't quite seem to ever lift (coffee in the fridge anyone??) oh yeah...and the tiredness that doesn't seem to go away no matter how many hours of sleep you have had (although with the amount of pee stops you make in the night, you'd wish the toilet was right next to the bed, especially in winter, so that it only took you 2 minutes instead of the 10 minutes it takes to get yourself rolled over, sat up and waddle down to the bathroom)....
I can't speak about the birth part though...I have that to look forward to....
Welcome to OB! Isn't pregnancy wonderful!! LOL

Renee, you make me laugh so hard I have to say this is pretty true though - the rotating pineapple is probably the closest
Welcome to OB from me too - pregnancy is an interesting experience, but having a baby is the best thing in the world

lol renee!!! rotating pineapple?? Please dont tell me it feels like that haha, Ive just been given the all clear for a VABC lol, I got to 9.5cm dilated with Caden but didnt get to push, had to have emergency c section, so Ive no idea what pushing feels like, or this ring of fire business
Anyways, yep thats pregnancy lol! along with what everyone else has said!
Then you get the sleepless nights because the baby is kicking the crap out of you, and the peeing a thousand times a a night....then after baby is born, the sleepless nights continue lol!

Glad to say didn't get morning sickness much but oh my goodness the tiredness does my head in....and I am getting puffed SO easily, like today I was talking to someone and I felt short of breath. Sigh. (literally!!!)
And the bit that scares me is that I am not even that far along yet so what is it gonna be like in 3-4 months haha!

I was fine and totally normal until about 8 weeks and then things started to change in much the same way as yours Britgirl!
Sore boobs- check
Emotional- check
Tired- check
Worst thing about pregnancy so far (that nobody warned me about) is the killer heartburn I have had.

I've been prescribed Losec for the heartburn. Really helps - a lot more than Gavsicon (they work in different ways).
Best wishes, DzinerGirl!

haha yes that is a very good description of it all. I'm about 8 weeks gone too and counting the days till the end of the first trimester when it gets much better (please god).
My last pregnancy i had happy hormones not these pms ones and was tralalalala all the time. What the hell is up with this perpetual grumpiness?
I had an urge to shove a rude lady with my trolley this morning in the supermarket. Came really close to just pushing her with it! I'd better stay off the roads, living in Auckland there's rude drivers' everywhere and i may not be able to control myself! Do you it would be a defence in court?

I loved being pregnant with my first two, I had no MS or anything, was just off most foods. I got the increased libido and the glowing skin and shiny hair.
So needless to say I was looking forward to being pregnant again and so far at 7 weeks 4 days I have MS, constant sore boobs since 5 DPO with some days worse that others and my skin is all dry and crusty, my hair gets greasy after one day and my bags under my eyes have changed into suitcases
I guess two outta three aint bad huh? lol

Meat taken out to defrost for dinner put on plate but never took the plate of the cupboard. That was mine. I was sooo confused as I positive I had taken it out... imagine DH's surprise when he went to get a plate..... Thank goodness we found i before it had defrosted!
I cant wait to do it all again!!!

Sounds a bit like my putting icecream in the microwave (one of my less 'with it' moments when preg first time around)
Then the fog stays with you afterwards, but now known as baby brain/ nappy brain... I walked out to the car to drop DS off at school one day last week ( my first week of doing the school drops as DP had gone back to work) hopped in and suddenly remembered I had to get baby out of her bassinette and bring her too! SO glad I remembered BEFORE backing out of the driveway!!
