Sorry I cant recommend one in that area, but one I DON'T recommend is Mary Casey (Church Cnr), steer clear of that one

I don't know anyone in the Riccarton area either! Sorry. My MIL is a retired MW so will ask her if you are struggling to find one in the area as she may know.
Just being nosey - who were you using? You can PM me if you like.

Was just about to say the same thing, Tastic! Maybe you could get someone that will do home visits.
Just did a really quick search and found that Midwifery Associates and Midwifes on Barrington both offer home visits.
Both these places have been recommended on here before.
Good Luck.

if you dont mind busing to barrington (just on the orbiter). Midwives on Barrington is great!!! I am with them now. Had them with henry and am using them again (even though it means travelling across town now). Give them a ring. They are lovely. And actually now that you mention it peanut - my midwife did offer to come visit me at home if i needed her to (i only just started driving).
I had Kelly last time - but i think she will be on holiday when you're due. I have Jo this time. But they are all lovely to be honest.
Quite focused on natural births and all about supporting the woman.

My winge for the day, yesterday morning I called the midwife pager, no call back (had to call and change appointment as got a call from the city mission saying if I get there at 10 Ill be first on the list for some food!)
10.33 my cell ring and its my mum - the midwifes turned up, 10.45 I arrive and midwifes already gone - now while she was there she was very rude to both my mum and bailey!
I try to ring the pager, no call back...
this morning I ring the pager AGAIN! (I rang 9am and 11am yesterday then 10am today)
10 minutes ago she rings me and has a go for me not being here yesterday when she turned up. I said well if you answered the bloody pager I left at 9am you would of known this! she said well Ive signed up another lady now cause you cant be interested!
UMMM WTF! RETURN THE BLOODY PAGER! and you would of F'n known!
grr Im so flippen angry now.
I rang the manager hoping to speak to her but got another midwife - she knows me as she delivered aidan
she will talk with the manager and get her to ring me!

I would recommend Anne Parker at Birthcare above the Carlton pub on corner of Papanui and Bealey Ave she can book up really quickly tho. Not sure if she does home visits i think she did for DPs brothers wife.

Sorry, I know my MW is full...Have you called your GP and asked him/her for their reccomendation/list ? It might even be worth asking them to call in a favour (e.g. get your GP to ask for you...) Good Luck!

Ring the college of midwives down Manchester Street, they may be able to tell you who isn't booked up yet.

SER - I am booked in with Vicki at Halswell Village myself for my bub due in Feb. She is soo lovely. Think she is all booked up now tho. I have a friend over Avonside way who can't seem to find a midwife either the poor girl. She has 2 kids already but her usual midwife is too busy to take her on.
