Hi all, Im so excited I have just been given a review appointment at Fert Assoc's and the nurse told me something has shown up as not right with one of the blood tests they did. She couldn't tell me which one but the specialist has asked me to do a Lupus anticoagulant test, and Im not sure but I think it has something to do with blood clotting and this causes the recurrent miscarriages.

So if anyone has any experience of this I would love to hear your story (PM me if you want).   Im wondering, if this is what I have whether I will have to take some sort of medication during our next pregnancy?, and our appointment is not until 30th June, so a whole month away lol

i was tested for this and although i came back with not having it, i have something called APS (antiphospholipid syndrome). I have had to take clexane injections everyday from the day i got pregnant (am almost 38wks).

And as weird as it sounds, its actually exciting and scary at the same time to actually know that there is a reason for why we keep miscarrying (ive had 4 between my first and now)

good luck for your appointment and keep us updated

Hey Kazzle, thanks so much for that, I'm pretty excited cause I knew something was not right but up until now they just kept saying it was a defect in the embryo.

And its such a good feeling thinking that maybe, just maybe our next pregnancy might be a keeper

Exciting that you are nearly 38 weeks and get to meet your little man soon

Hi Appy2, that must be a relief to know that they can pinpoint where the problem is.  Please let us know how you get along

Hi Jax, I'm so glad they have managed to find something and you can go forward from here!!

I was put on baby aspirin because apparently blood clotting can be a common cause of recurrent m/c, even though my tests all came back normal and they didn't have a reason for my m/c (although it may be because of my progesterone levels it seems). So I took 75mg of aspirin each day, along with 5mg of folic acid and then when I got my BFP I was on progesterone pessaries because my progesterone was too low.

I think the way it was explained to me is that the blood clots too soon and prevents the goodies being transferred through to the embryo, so in effect it dies before it's had a chance to live? That's in very basic terms of course!!!

Good luck and hopefully we'll see you in a pg thread soon with a happy little bubba!!!

Thanks Kate, Im so excited I don't know how Im going to wait till 30th June, but guess I will. We are off to Rotovegas on a weeks holiday next week so that will while away some time.

Im not exactly sure what Ive got until that appointment but know the Lupus anticoagulant that they have got me to repeat is to do with blood clotting, so hopefully thats what it is and they can treat it with baby aspirin and like Kazzle said there is also injectables. I don't care what I have to do as long as we can sustain a pregnancy

So now Im charting to ensure I don't get UTD before our next appt at FA
