I dont feel excited about this pregnancy..dont get me wrong I am looking foward to having this baby but meh I guess it's cause I have been through it all before.

Last pregnancy all my thoughts were consumed up of baby , what she would look like, what it would be like, what her future would hold ....this time, I struggle to picture him, I don't really think of him as existing outside my tummy , apart from when he moves , I feel like hes just a lump under my clothes . Im not writing him letters, I have to make a concious effort to talk to him . But everything Ive read about 2nd pregnancies says this is normal, and doesnt have any bearing on how you feel once they are here . I guess it is the whole "been there done that " thing , its easier to be excited about the unknown , than the known -------------

i was soooo excited with my second bubs cos he took so long to concieve but this time i didnt get excited until i was around 8 months!!! i wondered if i would ever get excited!!1
i guess as the more kids you have the more relaxed you get - with my first birth i wanted DH to be there every minute holding my hand even when i was asleep and i wanted him to have 2 weeks off after i had bub.... then number 2 i was more relaxed - as long as he drove me to hospital and had his phone on i was algood! - made him go to physio, go shopping, take bay out for day etc all while i was in labour!!! didnt see the point in him sitting there watching me suck gas and read a mag!!!.... this time he might even be working out of town so i said il take myself to hospital (seen as i have to go the minute im in labour due to strep B) and then he can turn up when hes finished work - as long as he makes it in time for baby to be born and i also figured if he has to work after then so be it! he will see baby every ngiht so no big deal if hes not there during the day!....

I guess I have actively tried not to get excited. There are so many hurdles to get through and I just worry that there might be something wrong every step of the way - I guess this comes from having a few things that were worrying first time around.
I am also scared about what life is gonna be like having two children, remembering back to how it was when Charlotte was a newborn and how hard it was with feeding and sleeping - and now I will have a preschooler to look after too. It is starting to get a little more exciting now we are starting to purchase things for this baby and the fact that it is moving more and more but even still, its not the same anticipation I had first time around. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

i wasnt excited or particularly attached to bubs until he came out. lol. people are different so dont worry too much. once you get to your scan things might totally change, some people in our thread were pretty blah until their scans and also getting to the 12 week stage and then it was all on really. -------------

I felt the same way with this pregnancy, Im still not even really that excited, just nervous and scared I'll have another crap labour or c section!
I mean Im super happy to be pregnant again, but there isnt the same feelings as a first pregnancy as nothing is really new, and you kind just take it in your stride and get on with it. Having caden to look after this time, I have found that I sometimes forget Im pregnant lol!! ------------- |

this is my 4th and am surprised im not all that excited this time, with my last baby i was soo excited, atm im still in the early weeks so it could just be my way of dealing with any disappointment incase of a mc some, i dont get much ms and atm im not even finding im as tired as i was with the other 3 so it doesnt even seem all that real.

I didn't get *really* excited til about 19 weeks. My partner being in hospital might have had something to do with that though. -------------

I'm finding I'm not as excited this time around either (second baby). Time seems to be dragging - but I know I'll start getting more excited after 20 weeks and we find out if bubs is a boy or a girl and we're on the countdown to the birth. At the moment it's just a waiting game... ------------- Two little girls under 2!

I am soo not feeling the excitement either. But then I'm sick, sick sick and not enjoying it at all. When people congratulate me I say thanks then talk about something else! usually it would be the main topic of conversation but I'm not interested in talking about it. Of course I can't wait for the birth and meeting my baby, and I can't wait to have my scan next week, but generally there is just no excitement for me just thinking about it! I felt like that at times just from feeling exhausted. I also worried that I couldn't love my #2 baby as much as #1. Once the fatigue started to lift I had the special moments and I love her as much as #1 too - just in a different way. -------------  |
