Okay, I am sure to upset some people with this but it is meant as a bit of a joke.....

My sister always says that people whose names start with J tend to more ratbag like. She is a teacher so sees lots of kids obviously.

She also claims that it why I am a ratbag (or was) and why her son is as well because we both have J middle names.......(tho apparently not as ratbag, just half since only middle name)

Interestingly enough when I think of people who start with J, they invariably are ratbags (except one of my cousins who is soooo good it is not funny).

So what does everyone else think! Do you know lots of ratbag J's??    A

And remember - this is just a bit of a laugh!

No, I don't think its 'J' names. Being a teacher it does 'put you off' some names. Personally, even though I think the name Jayden is a great name if I have a boy he won't be Jayden because of associations I have with that name. That is the only J name that does that for me though. Jacob, Joseph, Joshua - all of them I've ever come across have been lovely kids. We're still undecided on names, but one of our boy ones is a J name.

I don't think a name will influence behaviour - unless you call the kid Scoundrel or something lol. Will be interesting to see what others put.

Maybe its cause names starting with J are popular and there fore more likely to belong to ratbags.

There are a lot of Jo's and Joe's around - either from being Joanne/a or Joseph

Jason was a popular name when I was born and most of them I know are ratbags, loveable ratbags but trouble still the same.

If we have a son we want to call him James - and that name has been in the top 10 boys names for over 100 years. I also like its variants which I admit do sometimes belong to trouble makers - Jamie, Jim, Seamus, Jimmy.

I can think of a few girls names starting with J that well they've turned into little misses, Jenna, Jen, Jennifer, Jenny, Justine,

I'd imagine being a school teacher makes it difficult to find the right name for your child, as you'd come across a lot of difficult kids which would put you off their name.

lol my first name starts with J and I don't really think I was a ratbag (was one of the quiet kids in school). My BF's name also starts with a J and she is pretty similar to me.

our family tradition is that the middle name starts with J and is a family name - hence James and Jon. Don't know what to use with this one - another boy and we've got very boring faily trees cause we can't find another!
My boys are "busy" but I wouldn't change them for anything.

Yes I agree... muhahahahahaha

But really, I was a very shy, quiet, gentle child, bit of a ratbag when I was late teens early 20's

Whereas my partner was the ratbag as kid, by the sounds of it

Together we are mischief though

My sister, Jasmine...ratbag. But not in the typical sense of the word. She was more a troublesome child rather than the loveable rogue.

I went to school with a Joseph and a Jason. Both ratbags.

Worked with a guy named James (Jimmy), total ratbag!!!

My workmates daughter has 2 little boys, Joshua and Jonah. ratnags...especially Jonah! They keep threatening me that my baby will be just like him. LOL

But then I also find names like Riley, Brett, David and Mark all to be "ratbag" type names. My DP is a Mark, his dad is a David and my mum wants me to name a boy Riley. So will have a ratbag family.

This is funny - there are certain names that I wouldn't use because of associating them to other people...

I have a brother Jordan - RATBAG - lovely ratbag though :)

One of our names is a J name...double barrel even - first and middle name I knew a few girls with the J name at school, but funnily enough, none of them were ratbags...

J is such a common first letter, gosh almost every second person I think of starts with a J. Yeah there maybe a few ratbags but mot of them I can think of are really sweet, Jackson, Joshua, Jessica (although as a kid they were always the naughty ones)....

OMG yes I so agree, I've never met a Matt that I liked.
I'm also put off by ex-bfs names depending on what they were like. Gosh so many things to think about when naming your children.

I'm a J and I was such a goody good at school, very quiet too. All the J's I know are the same too, no J ratbags that I know of!!

Matt just reminds me of a flat piece of material you wipe your feet on! No offence to any 'Matt's' out there.

My DP's name is Jacob and he's not much of a ratbag, though I hear he might have been a bit of a handful as a child - as a teenager and adult though he was pretty good (in my opinion anyway).

And the nicest, loveliest guy I've ever met in the whole world is named Matt... (well Matthew, but I'm guessing all the Matt's are Matthew's).

Just my two cents

I have to stick up for Matt too lol, my brothers name is Matt, and a couple of my really good guy mates too! Theyre real sweeties, though they can be quite smart ass too!

Definately know a few J names that are definate ratbags lol. There was a stage i went through where every guy i liked started with J, all pretty much turned out to be bastards lol.... ended up with an A.

Yep, have to stick up for Matts.... DH is a Matt and is AMAZING. Been in love with him since I was 14, so he must be!!

And my boy is a J... and a JJ no less! Hopefully these predictions don't mean trouble later on!!
