I am waxed every 6-8 weeks, however when I got my wax last week my waxer mentioned she did not want to wax me after 35 weeks. This kind of annoyed me as I want to be reasonably tidy for the big event. And I figure that if I am waxed at 35 weeks I will be all grown back there by 40plus weeks.
She said she isn't experienced with waxing pregnant people, it was just that she would prefer not to do it too late.
Does anyone know if there is any dangers with getting waxed late in pregnancy or reasons not to hve it done?

i think there is a similar thread somewhere but there is no problem getting waxed after 35 weeks but it sounds like you may need to find someone else to do it.

i very much doubt that there is any danger with waxing so late in pregnancy but maybe she feels uncomfortable??
definately sounds like you should find someone else who is comfortable with it

That is a shame she wont do it.
With my boy I had it done right up to 40 weeks!

Maybe time to find someone else

My SIL is beauty therapist and she had her waxing done the other week which would have made her about 38wks or so. However in saying that I think she said it hurt a little more than normal.

Maybe the therapist doesn't feel comfortable or is concerned about hurting you as you get further along. As the other have said you may want to find another therapist. Alternatively you could get a Remington Trim and Shape Bikini Trimmer from Farmers for $30. I just got one as I am not getting SIL to so a brazillian on me! She is my beauty therapist and I am happy to have a bikini wax but not a brazillian!

Yeh, I will consider going somewhere else if needed. Am doing them each 5 weeks now, simply just to make it easier, less painful and quicker. Yeh it is prob due to being bigger etc. Will go at 30 and 35weeks and then will try somewhere else I guess.

I'm going to keep up with mine throughout, I just prefer it. A friend of mine was told by her beauty therapist that they can bring on labour though??

My therapist is happy doing mine right though so long as I am comfortable. She has done many other heavily pregnant ladies, including herself a few years ago.

LOL wow howd she reach to do herself?!!! I was too sick to keep up with my brazillian during pregnancy - even doing my eyebrows made me sick.

I can't see that area anymore, so I'm not too sure either Babe! Can't say I have even seen what sort of job the waxer did last week....DF not alowed to look either!

I got a brazillian at 36 weeks with twins, I never considered there being a problem and certainly no-one pointed out one to me at the time. If anything we had a good laugh about it while I was getting it done.

No idea how she reached herself. I know she regularly does her own squatting with the help of a mirror.

My beauty therapist says she gives her cell phone to her loyal clients who are pregnant. So if they go into labour and they're due for their next wax... she can fit them in asap (within reason)... the best reason being if you end up having a c section... no itchy regrowth in your scar from the nurses shaving you!

LOL I think that would be the last thing I'd be worried about!!! A last minute brazilian wouldn't be high on my priority list but will probably keep them up during the pregnancy.
