Hello,
I'm researching the possibility of doing a doco for TV about infertility in NZ.
I would like to talk to people who have experienced infertility and would like to share their experiences with NZ.
I feel that there is not enough awareness of this subject in the media, and often couples who experience it feel very alone.

Eventually I'm looking to follow one couples journey through infertility to (hopefully) birth.

At this stage this doco is just in the research phase, so any help/info would be appreciated.

Cheers

Rebecca

I agree that there is not enough awareness of infertility and I would be happy to take part in your research. We have been trying to conceive for 23 months. I am 32 my Husband is 37, and there are no known health issues affecting our fertility.

Thanks for your reply. I would love to talk you you.
When would be a good time to chat? Could I call you some time this week? Or would email be better?

Thanks again

Rebecca

YAY! I have one person to talk to (thanks Lou) but I would like to speak to may more.
Please don't be afraid. I'm not going to turn up to your house with a camera. I just want to know how infertility is affecting NZ.

The more I know the more I can help others out there who think they are alone.

we have only been ttc for less than six months - and while hopeful that we wont be here too long, we (DH and I) know that in our mid 30's our chances are a lot less....we hope to succeed before having to go down any IVF route etc (although that would give me the twins I want LOL)
There are so many women / couples out there ttc - good on you for bringing it to the masses. I look forward to watching it.

Thanks for everyone who has offered their help, support and stories. Last night we had a development meeting in which it was decided that we would not progress with this infertility doco.

This idea has now been put on the shelf, sometime I'm sure we'll make this doco and raise awareness.

Good luck to you all.
I wish many bouncing bundles of joy upon you all.

Thanks again

Rebecca

< language=> Oh thats really sad as I would have been more than happy to take part as it is a generally "swept under the carpet" topic and there defiantely needs to be more awareness thats its out there, woman suffer from it & it would be reassuring for them to know that there are others out there who are going through similar things & frustation & that its ok & they are normal in the feelings which go with it.

Without the support of websites such as this one I sure wouldnt be in a reasonable frame of mind as I am now & its great to know that one is not alone.
