I was given some drugs which would "hopefully" stop my milk coming in and told to wear a firm bra and leave my boobs alone which I've done. But my boobs are tender and sore and sometimes my skin feels quite a bit warmer than the rest of me. How can I stop it from t urning into an infection or something?

Cabbage leaves! It sounds a bit werid but it definately works. There is a chemical that the cabbage naturally produces that reduces and stops you making milk. If you want to stop your milk altogether then make sure you leave the leaves in your bra for over 20 minutes at a time. For some reason you shouldn't put them on your nipples but that can be easily resolved by cutting a hole in the leaf. Store the cabbage in the fridge and it will be nice and soothing on your hot skin.

Hi chick, I know there's a milk stop natural remedy you can get which is supposed to be very effective (pretty sure it's actually called 'Milk Stop'). Also cabbage leaves but I'd probably leave those for now as they work pretty quickly and you don't want an infection coming if you already feel a bit funny.

Anyway, I think the stuff you can get is by naturopharm or similar.

Yeah it is by naturopharm. I tried the cabbage leaves and had no luck with them, they didn't seem to do anything and I bought the right type as apparently it needs to be savoy cabbage not just any old cabbage.

For the heat I would just use some cold flannels and just keep and eye out for any red patches and get to your gp quick smart if you see one.

I found cabbage leaves fantastic (if a little smelly!!). I just lined my entire bra except nipples and as long as the cabbage had come out of the fridge it was very soothing.

And Blackmores do a milk stop so you should be able to get it from any health food shop. I didn't use these because I'm not sure that I ever had much milk (after two weeks of deffective breastfeeding).

The cabbage leaves definitely took the heat away though.

when I had my boys at 20 weeks, no one warned me that my milk came in (and being my first I it never occured to me), it was a bit like the final straw for me but i found cabbage leaves were good and the milk stop, I did have to stand in the shower and get a bit off because they were so sore.
