It has been the same for all 3 of my pregnancies (that have resulted in a baby)....

I have an extremely strong craving for the smell of petrol, deisel, tar, turps and new rubber tires!!!! obviously its not a craving i can forful!!! but lately i have absolutely loved getting stopped in roadworks when they are laying road! ....even the thought of it now its hard not to run outside and stick my face in Dhs exaust! (deisel)!!

Please tell me somebody else is as weird as me!!.....

BTW - after my boys were born the craving just disapeared!

Crazy cravings are called pica cravings. They are normal but not terribly common. Some reasearch has shown they are because of a lack of iron so maybe get your iron tested?

Heres a http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/unusualcravingspica.html - link on it so you can see your not alone.

I craved the smell of dishwasher powder, I do think I would have seriously eaten it if I could have, but then I made this weird link between the powder and tangy fruits, and every time I had the urge to sniff/inhale the powder I would have a little sniff then eat a tangy fruit...
