This pregnancy ....is weird , well not weird, but different and I've finally worked out why .

When I was pregnant with Caitlyn it dragggged, it seemed to take forever just to get to 20 weeks, with THIS one , it seems to be rushing by (which is fine )
But , I keep thinking (this is going to sound really dumb) that Im running out of time for him to do things, like not just kick, but have limbs etc sticking out , or to get hiccups , or for me to get really big.
With Caitlyn it felt like there was enough time for her to do all that, and that she probably would stay in there forever anyway , this one I keep thinking "ive only got 13 more weeks , give or take a couple , to go ,how can he do all those things babies do ?"

Which is really duh, cos its still 13 weeks -but 13 weeks doesnt seem long anymore ....maybe its nothing to do with being pregnant again, maybe its because im getting older and the years are rushing by .....

Anyone else having their 2nd (or 3rd , 4th etc ) baby finding this ? or anyone whos HAD a subsequent pregnancy ?

Hahaha I hear you it seems like just yesterday we were going through all the fertility stuff to conceive #1 and now we're up to #2!

I worry (and like you, it's one of those 'duh' worries cos I know it will be fine) that this baby won't feel as loved because I'm not spending all my time devoted to it. I'm sure it'll be fine though!

(And yes Tyler will sprout all the necessary apendages to life a healthy and happy life lol)

I am not so worried about baby having enough time to develop, more that I don't have enough time to get things ready for it's arrival. I thought the other day OMG how can I get it all done in 15wks? Then I reminded myself that is over 3mths and ti seemed like longer, panic over (for now!)

im kinda going through that this time - with astin it took 15 months to concieve him so i had all that time to get excited but this time it happened first go so it took ages to hit home, With astin it felt like i had an elephant pregnancy!! it just dragged on forever and i killed the time by collecting/buying the baby stuff, finding names, packing and then repacking bags!! and that was all by 7 months!!! but this time! it just dawned on me a week or so ago that i havnt bought anything i need or gotten anything ready and im almost 8 months!!! so i quickly rushed out and bought the seat, got some more baby clothes, got a new pram and washed the basinette. I still have to keep reminding myself to pack our bags!!
So much to do so little time!!!

With Spencer the whole pregnancy dragged on for an eternity, especially the last 3 weeks which I mostly spent at the hospital. With Kyle though it did seem to go a lot quicker at times, felt like forever at the end when I went overdue though. I found with Spencer I just couldn't wait for it to end so that I got my baby but with Kyle I would flip between OMG I have another 12 long weeks to go to OMG I only have 12 weeks to go.

it doesn't seem like i had any time to enjoy that 'baby-ness' with charli and now she's almost 3

I was talking to another mother at our daughters dance classes on Saturday.  She's the mother of 3 and said that she's come to the realisation that the first pregnancy and all the wonder and joy and hours spent pondering and daydreaming (and sleeping) etc is done not just for that pregnancy but for all subsequent pregnancies too.

So any pregnant first time mums reading this make the most and enjoy your pregnancy as much as possible because you don't get as much of a chance during your second and subsequents.
