Hi all, the time has come for me to think about contraception .
Because I'm BF I can't take the normal contraceptive Pill and I'm not too keen on condoms. So I was thinking maybe the mini pill, called Noriday.

In the past I've always used the normal Pill, which also had the benefit for me of having very light and short periods and it improved my skin quite a lot.
Without the Pill my periods tend to be very heavy and cause aenemia for me. (Mind you, my period is not back yet, and don't know when it will come back).

Anyway, I was wondering if there are people here who take/took the mini pill, and what are their experiences?

Hi Ella. I haven't been on the pill since having Emily but I was put on Noriday about 7 years ago because of issues I was having with the regular pill. I only lasted a couple of months with Noriday because after the first 2 weeks I had constantly sore tender breasts - so sore I couldn't sleep properly. So I chucked it in. Not saying the same side effect will happen to you because the pill can affect women in different ways, but it is one side effect that wasn't bearable. Also after the first cycle I got breakthrough spotting too which was a nuisance. As for flow I don't recall if it was any lighter or heavier, just the usual I think.

I"m on noriday now. It is okay but it is so strict on having it at the same time every day that I worry it wont work for me as I"m terrible with remembering. BFing really is good form of contraception so them conbind is a safe bet but in my books it wouldn't be so cool if I wasn't bfing.

I've been on Noriday from when Lauren was 6 weeks old and it's been fine, no issues other than taking it at the same time everyday, it always ended up that I was feeding then I'd forget (9am). I now have my phone set to go off at 730 every morning to remind me (usually I'm getting kid and pet breakfasts sorted then so I'm on my feet and do it as soon as the phone beeps) and its working really well!

I been on the mini pill since Ella was around 6 weeks (am still on it now as I am still b/f) and haven't had any major problems, however I have found it tends to make me a bit moodier around AF time, whereas I never had that on my other pill. Also I miss the fact that I used to be about to skip an AF.

I have been on Noriday (on and off) for about the last 7 years as I get migraines and full pill is no good for me. In the past I have not ever had any problems with the mini pill and never experienced any side effects.
Just started back on it about a month ago, and have had break through bleeding which I have never experienced before. But that has now stopped.
For me, periods tend to be slightly lighter than when I am not on the mini pill.
And, as you need to take it at the same time each day, I also have a reminder on my phone (9pm) and that is working really well.
