Hi all
I normally get a huge amount of movement in the mornings and also if i slouch in my chair at work - guess little miss doesnt like being squished but i cant recall getting any this morning (have been super busy at work this morning though) and i have had a big glass of cold water and still nothing... I am 32 weeks tomorrow - how long do i wait before i get worried. I am also feeling like i am getting the flu which doesnt help. have left my maternity book at home so will pop home in an hour or so and call midwife but i cant help but feel a little freaked... Any thoughts... |

Have you tried lying on your side ? sometimes that will make my baby move, (he kicks the side im lying on )
Often when you are busier, you don't notice them as much also remember baby has sleep /wake cycles in the womb, she may just be resting , but you will know her best , and If you think by now she'd be moving , call your mw and she may be able to get you in to hear babies heart beat , to give you some peace of mind  -------------

You just need to feel 10 movements during the day, doesn't matter when so long as you get them. If you get super worried just drink a glass of really cold water, that often makes them wriggle about

My babies only ever seemed to move when I wasn't so if you have been busy this morning and moving alot then maybe baby was just enjoying the ride. Have you been sitting down for long? Maybe if you sit down for a while baby will start to move.
I think generally you should have 10 movements in a day which for me wasn't very many as Jack would often give 10 movements in one go. So you really do have all day to get those movements. In saying all that though I do know how worrying it can be when you don't feel them move for a while so  . If it will put your mind at ease then I would definately suggest calling your mw

have a drink of really cold water it usually wakes them up I do it if I've been busy an haven't noticed many movements ETA sorry blind as just repeated someone else |

My rule (that I'm hopeless at listening to) is that if you're worried, call the MW. They'll probably say 10 kicks in 24 hours, but when you're not feeling any when you normally would feel them, 24 hours is a long time to wait. Often you can just pop in for a doppler and that relieves the stress. Hugs - I know how stressful it is. ------------- Mum to two wee boys |

i have had about a litre of really cold water in the past hour and still nothing - even tried what normally sets her off and still nothing. Will call MW shortly |

Called MW and couldnt reach her so called hospital unit and they have asked me to pop in for a check

Kaz it's not usually anything to worry about but it is very relieving to go have a quick doppler/scan check and hear the heartbeat again. -------------  |

Kaz- I had this just the other week and was freaking out....my normally very active bubba went very quiet indeed so I went to see my mw...and we heard nice strong heartbeat! Just turned out she had moved and was probably facing inwards kicking me lol. It was very scary though and you're totally doing the right thing getting it checked ASAP. Thanks for your support everyone - within minutes of them putting the monitors on me baby woke up and started thrashing me!

MW at hospital found it quite funny with how quickly baby woke up and protested! - she did tell me off about worrying about coming in though and reminded me that they would rather see me than have me sitting at home worrying - lovely lot they were!
Guess i dont need to go on the hospital tour on Monday - got a accidental one :) |

| Glad to hear everything is ok, with my bubs I got hardly any movement thru out the whole pregnancy so I know how you feel - she is definately making up for being a quite womb baby now! |
